We’ve had good sightings of Giraffe, Mountain Zebra and Elephants plus many more species at Nyosi Wildlife Reserve. The recent rains have bought rich vegetation to this peri-urban landscape set between two cities. A 2500 hectare oasis for wildlife!

We’ve had an action packed week learning how to protect some of the worlds most endangered wildlife. This is the last day before we head home. It’s been brilliant!

🐾 Year 4 had a wild time at Bede's Zoo this morning! 🐍 They learnt about how animals adapt to their environment, diets, life expectancies, and endangered status in the wild. But the best part? Meeting some incredible creatures up close!

We are proud to have been awarded the BSA ‘Supporting Excellence: Working with Vulnerable Children’ Award. A wonderful achievement and testament to the sense of belonging that all Bedians share. The award was presented to Headmaster, Peter Goodyer, at the BSA Annual Conference.

We have some new additions to the Bede's community... Some goslings have been enjoying their first steps and swims on the lake. They can often be seen following their conscientious parents around the lawn! Thank you to Upper Sixth pupil Josh for these wonderful photos!

Our pupils in Madagascar had a wonderful time on their river adventure! After the river trip, they went 4x4ing to Morondava via the Avenue of the Baobabs, where they made it just in time to watch the sunset. Here are some more fantastic photos from their trip...

28th May - 5th Jun 2022 is “Love Your Zoo week”. Bede’s Zoo is involved in conservation work for Hazel Dormice and Black Lemurs, plus lots of education work throughout the year with hundreds of local children. We aim to get involved with even more schools over the coming years!

Our latest arrivals at the Zoo… Meet Bella and Bede - brother and sister Binturongs who arrived late last night! Did you know that Binturongs are one of only two carnivores with a prehensile tail, which is almost as long as it’s body and acts like another limb when climbing?
