Two years ago today we tragically lost El Monte police Sergeant Michael Paredes and Officer Joseph Santana. I continue to offer my prayers and support to Sasha, Bianca, Olga, and Janine, their families, their children who have lost their dads, to their partners & fellow officers & to the entire El Monte community. We must never forget their service to our community. I will always stand with and support my sisters and brothers in El Monte PD and all our first responders. George Gascón now says crime isn’t real. We just “fear” crime. It’s only our “feelings.” Gascón-tell this to the families of murdered El Monte police officers Paredes and Santana, or the young woman sexually assaulted in Long Beach, or the family of the 4-yr-old little boy shot to death in Lancaster in a road rage incident, or the parents, fiancé and partners of Deputy Clinkunbroomer, or all the families hurt by gun violence when you fail to fully prosecute felons in possession of firearms, or the young girl brutally assaulted in McDonalds, or the UCLA grad student killed in Antelope Valley, or the dad killed in San Dimas after a follow home robbery, or the employees assaulted daily at businesses, retail stores, taco trucks, and restaurants, or the innocent Angelenos who use public transportation, or the numerous acts of hate happening daily in LA, or the deaths by fentanyl poisoning & street takeovers, or the parents who have lost their children, or the loss of many innocents who don’t have a home & are victimized, or the children we lose where we never even hear their last voice. Crime isn’t just a feeling to so many … it’s real. Victims matter. They aren’t just a statistic. Gascón now says “I think that this race now for 2024 has gone back to, for a lot of people, law and order…” We need someone with actual experience who wants to follow and enforce the LAW as DA. Someone who will prioritize public safety, who really understands the job of the DA, and someone who is willing to stand up and fight for victims and their families, not minimize them or gaslight them. If you can’t follow and enforce the law as DA and you refuse to fight for victims, you don’t deserve the job Gascón. Vote HATAMI for LADA 2024.
