I genuinely don't understand why some Patriots fans feel they hold the leverage in the AJ Brown deal. I hate to be the one to tell you, you don't. Not one iota. AJ is under contract for multiple years in Philly. The #Eagles are prepared to play with, or without AJ, and even if AJ held out, that sucks but it kind of resolves the problem, doesn't it? We can lineup right now at WR and be super competitive on Offense. Our question mark is more about the health of our O-Line, and its depth. We got playmakers. At the end of the day, we're sitting with a roster that includes DeVonta Smith, Makai Lemon, Dontayvion Wicks, Hollywood Brown, Johnny Wilson, Darious Cooper, and Elijah Moore. We're already staring down at a roster cut that in many other years we wouldn't make. By the way, that leaves out Saquon Barkley, Dallas Goedert, Eli Stowers, and Tank Bigsby being contributors to this offense as well. I'm not sure that AJ would hold out if a deal doesn't get made because it doesn't necessarily help him or hurt the Eagles. He would basically be giving away game checks, and Philly is prepared to play without him already. If this is about legacy, and chasing a gold jacket, sitting at home on Sundays won't help him achieve that outcome. Furthermore, you're entering in a trade conversation with Howie Roseman. Did you watch what Howie did with the draft capital he got from the Carson Wentz trade? You sure you want your organization picking up the phone if Howie Roseman is on the other end? He turned that 2021, 3rd round pick from the Colts partially into DeVonta Smith. He basically used that 3rd round pick to jump the Giants and move up two spots with Dallas to get DeVonta. Then, he turned that 2022, 1st round pick from the colts, #16 overall and the Eagles own #19 overall pick, and a 6th round pick #194 overall into the Saints 18th overall pick, a 2022 third round pick (101), a 2023 first round pick, and a 2024, 2nd round pick. Want to guess what those picks ultimately turned into? You may have heard of these guys... AJ Brown, Jalen Carter, and Cooper DeJean. So, Howie fleeced the Colts and Saints into giving him the draft capital that ultimately led to: DeVonta Smith, AJ Brown, Jalen Carter, and Cooper DeJean. Your organization is playing with fire, and you're all complicit in cheering them on. You sure you want your organization picking up telephone calls with Howie Roseman on the other end? Congratulations, I guess. You're likely Howie's main trading partner. But just know this, somewhere in Philly Howie Roseman is rolling around in a tinted-out SUV with the Rolling Stones coming through the speakers...
