the cost of living went up, salaries don’t keep up, and suddenly the things that used to signal “ready for commitment” has become impossible benchmarks. like own a house first, be financially stable first, have your career sorted first. people are spending their whole 30s chasing the prerequisites. and then there’s the emotional side. a generation raised on absent or unstable homes is now trying to figure out how to be vulnerable and available for someone else. it takes therapy, self work and time. love is not the hard part anymore but being healed enough to receive it is. social media made it worse too. you can see 500 options on an app and still feel completely alone. the paradox of choice froze people. why settle into something when the next swipe might be better. that mindset has killed a lot of good things before they even started. tbh, a lot of people in their 30s are not “failing” at love. they’re just tired, tired of situationships, tired of performing, tired of explaining what they need and being told it’s too much. so they choose peace over pressure. the world sold a lie that you have to have everything figured out before you can build with someone. so now everyone is building alone, waiting to be “ready,” not realising ready was always something you become together.

There are too many bachelors and spinsters in their 30s now. Somewhere along the way, the timeline for everything shifted.

Honestly, I’m exhausted. Life is a decline in Nigeria. Even going outside, everywhere carries the weight of poverty. I can’t fully explain it, maybe it’s the air, maybe it’s the faces of the people, but there’s this constant reminder that the country is slowly sinking, and it shows in what I see every day. You can hardly move from one place to another without someone asking you for money. Sometimes politely & out of pity, sometimes with intimidation by those stupid agberos that have been enabled by the wicked government of today. Bro! Civilians. Civil servants. People who have been stepped on so much by the system that they ask for money without shame. Insecurity is at an all-time high. Hundreds have died in barely three months of 2026, yet nothing about the national mood reflects the scale of it. Even I’m not exempt from it. The other day I was scrolling through Twitter and saw the news about people being killed in Kwara. I kept scrolling like it was just another headline. Later it bothered me. Why did I feel nothing? It made me realize how easy it is to become numb here. When bad news becomes constant, you slowly stop reacting to it and that might be one of the most dangerous things of all cus it might be too late when it comes at your doorstep. No urgency, no sense that something is deeply wrong. Electricity keeps declining. Electricity came to Nigeria in 1896, Nigeria is 65 years as an independent nation but we can’t brag of 24/7 light. Of course a nation cannot function when one of its most basic growth infrastructures is crippled by inconsistent electricity. Power affects everything. Industry, healthcare, education, security, technology. Nothing scales properly without it. Yet one idiot here said we only need electricity to make ice blocks. Hardship keeps rising. Basic things that should improve with time are getting worse. You think your life isn’t improving because of some village people? Lmao baba, you’re a victim of a failed society. No prayer will solve your problem. I still struggle to understand how people who are informed, people who have been directly affected by these realities, people who are educated in the 21st century, still go out of their way to defend this government. Omo, if you actively advocate for a government that keeps pushing the country deeper into hardship, you’re incredibly foolish. Because the truth is simple. You and I will still live in the consequences of this. In a country where basic amenities feel like luxuries and if nothing changes, the next generation will inherit that same reality. The average lifespan of a Nigerian is about 54 years. At 27, you’ve already lived half your life here. Half, and the frightening part is realizing that the years ahead may not even be better than the years behind. Can you imagine what the next 4 years will be? My God. Sometimes it feels like we’ve normalized decline.
Like we’ve adjusted our expectations downward so many times that we barely notice it anymore. But a country shouldn’t feel like something you simply endure. At some point, we have to stop pretending this is normal. My fear is probably the same fear millions of Nigerians feel. Nobody wants to die for a country that defeats them every time they try. Nobody wants to strike, because mentally, we all feel defeated. I don’t know what it will take for a real revolution to happen. But I hope I’m alive to join & witness it.

Allow me to add more context to this: From a very young age, when I got my own space in my parents house, till when I moved out, I started living like this. I handled everything myself. I cleaned my space, washed my clothes, cooked my meals; I’m actually a good cook—and ran my errands. I was completely self-reliant. If something needed to be done, I did it myself. I don’t ask for help. I enjoyed my own company, and when I started sailing, it intensified the solitude. It made me feel strong and in control. But here’s the downside: when you get used to doing everything alone, relationship with a woman becomes difficult. Letting a woman into my space felt less like companionship and more like an intrusion of my privacy. I had grown too comfortable being by myself. My mindset was this: anything you can do for me, I can do for myself. I was overly guarded. Asking for help felt like weakness. Allowing someone to support me made me feel vulnerable. I had to unlearn that. I had to learn how to open up, to share space, to accept help without feeling like I was losing control. Self-reliance and solitude have their strengths. You’re less likely to be disappointed because you expect little from others. But if you’re not careful, it can isolate you. And once it settles in too deeply, it becomes hard to let anyone close.

MICROCHIMERISM has nothing to do with virginity. Microchimerism is when a small number of cells from one individual live inside another. The most common example is pregnancy. During pregnancy, some fetal cells can remain in a mother’s body for years. That’s it. It does not happen because a man ejaculates in a woman. It does not happen because a man ejaculates in a woman. Sperm do not travel to the brain. They do not travel to the spine. They do not permanently “store” in the body. If pregnancy does not occur, sperm cells die within days and are cleared out. If pregnancy does occur, the baby’s DNA comes from: • the egg • the sperm that fertilized that egg Not from previous partners. Not from “stored DNA.” Not from swallowing semen. If swallowing sperm permanently embedded male DNA in women’s brains, we would see measurable male genetic material in huge numbers of women with no pregnancy history. We don’t. Also, behavior like being “violent” or “a thief” is not inherited from random sexual partners. That is not how genetics works. Complex behaviors are influenced by multiple genes plus environment, upbringing, trauma, social context and mental health. You cannot trace them to “a man she slept with.” The idea that previous partners “pollute the gene pool” is a myth. Modern genetics has rejected that for over a century. And If this theory were true, paternity testing would not work, blood typing would be disorganized and genetic inheritance patterns would make no sense They don’t.

MICROCHIMERISM: Why Virginity Is Important The sperm is more than just a fluid, it is a container of genetic information. Meaning when a man ejaculates in a woman, he leaves behind DNA that is stored inside the woman and shared if she gets pregnant. If she aborts..

She wasn’t raped, she sat down created an account to self message, made up a whole story, sat behind camera faked tears, faked narratives, played people for fools, like wtf! Do you know the damage this will cause to the real victims pretty soon? Okay and y’all want to defend it with she’s mentally unstable? My God!!!! Whatever she’s facing is not enough reason for her actions. Whether she acted under the influence of drugs and alcohol or hallucination or whatever. Y’all should better call out this bad behavior or else it ll become a norm. There has to be consequences for her actions. When she faces the consequences then we can talk about rehab or psychiatric.

In our global society, a man is always guilty until proven innocent. And a woman is always innocent, until proven guilty. Knowing the nature of women and how manipulative & deceitful they can be, without being accountable. The reverse should actually be the case. End.
