@Drkmaher You’ve switched from a virus (COVID) to a condition (meningitis). Meningitis isn’t a pathogen it’s an outcome caused by different organisms. That’s not a valid comparison.

Just last year Exercise Pegasus stress-tested the UK’s response to a novel enterovirus causing meningitis & AFM, including children among vulnerable groups. Elements of that exercise should apply to meningitis B so why is the current response so chaotic?

I send my deepest condolences to the family and friends of the two students who tragically died following the outbreak of Meningitis in Kent. This is also a deeply difficult time for the families of others who are seriously ill. We are working closely with health experts to distribute antibiotics and begin a targeted vaccine programme.

@munkeyboy51 @Keir_Starmer What the Van Tam that downgraded COVID from an HCID because there weren’t enough FFP3 masks? Which in turn miraculously changed the mode of transmission overnight from aerosol to droplet? Who denied RPE to protect staff and patients? Not such funny stories
