Raghav Chadha told Parliament that an average Pune resident spends 152 hours every year stuck in traffic. That is more than six full days lost on the road every year. He said Pune is among the worst-affected cities in the country when it comes to traffic congestion.
Chadha said growing traffic has turned major cities into “giant parking lots”. He blamed the problem on rising numbers of private vehicles, weak public transport and poor planning. According to him, the long hours spent in traffic are hurting productivity, wasting fuel and increasing air pollution.
He has demanded a National Urban Decongestion Mission, with better public transport, smarter traffic management and long-term planning to reduce congestion in cities like Pune.

From Mumbai, still very less connectivity to many places within MH. Eg. For Ahilyanagar, only 11041 (4 days a week) For Chandrapur : 1. 22109 only Tuesday but faster (13hrs) 2. 11001 daily but takes 19hrs! No connectivity on Badnera Narkhed line and Gondia Balharshah line (1/2)

मुंबईत उभं राहून दोन दिशांना बघा:-
एक Ahmedabad… दुसरं Kolhapur.
कोल्हापूर अंतराने जवळ.
अहमदाबाद लांब.
पण connectivity?
उलट.
अहमदाबादला रोज ४०+ ट्रेन.
कोल्हापूरला?
फक्त ३…
म्हणजे प्रश्न अंतराचा नाही:
सुविधा आणि प्राधान्यांचा आहे.
तिकडे सकाळपासून रात्रीपर्यंत ट्रेन मिळते.
इकडे चुकली एक… तर पुढची वाट बघा.
तिकडे business corridor तयार.
इकडे अजूनही घाट, वळणं, slow track…!
मग लोक काय करणार?
ट्रेन नाही… म्हणजे खाजगी गाडी… चुकून महामंडळाची बस मिळालीच तर आहेच मग लाडकी फ्रीबिझ सो मग एका सर्वसामान्य माणसाची चूक काय..?
मुंबई ते कोल्हापूर:
१०-१२ तास drive, टोल वेगळा, पेट्रोल वेगळं.
आणि हे सगळं का?
कारण पर्यायच नाही.
अहमदाबादला जाणारा माणूस विचार करतो:
कुठली ट्रेन पकडू? कारण त्याला पर्यायच पर्याय आहेत.
कोल्हापूरला जाणारा माणूस विचार करतो:
खाजगी गाडीने जाऊ का बसने?
तिकडे विकास होतोय…
आणि इकडे? विकासच्या ४ पिढ्या गेल्या तरी….
