What’s happening inside Sanjay Gandhi National Park needs to be on record. Adivasi padas are being demolished without surveys, without Forest Rights Act verification, and with basic services cut. Families who’ve lived here for generations are being labelled encroachers. Children are out of school. Electricity and transport have been stopped. This is not conservation. It’s displacement without due process. If the demolitions continue without following the law, people will have no option but to intensify democratic protest and seek legal remedies.

URGENT : Adivasis- Mumbai’s indigenous people are being wrongly displaced from their Padas inside SGNP, their houses are being DEMOLISHED. Tried visiting the padas with @AAPMumbai leaders, to move court. Situation is chaotic. SGNP has been barricaded, water supply and electricity has been disconnected, Public transport has been suspended. This is in gross violation of the Forest rights act 2006 and against the principles of natural justice. Adivasis are Mumbai’s original inhabitants and not encroachers. This must STOP!

On Republic Day, 10 Adivasi padas inside Sanjay Gandhi National Park are being demolished without a survey, without verification, without justice. These are original Adivasi inhabitants, living here before SGNP was even notified. They are not encroachers. And yet: • Homes are being demolished from 27 January • Electricity has been cut • BEST buses stopped, with 50+ children out of school • 25,000 Adivasis across Goregaon and Dahisar are at risk • Families are being pushed into SRA buildings they never asked for You cannot uproot forest-dwelling communities and call it development. You cannot erase people and wave the Constitution. Republic Day means nothing if Adivasi lives don’t count.
