I'm so happy with all the work @SeattleShapers, @NaeemahZakarya, and I accomplished throughout this quarter. I'm so grateful I got to work with such an awesome and inspiring group of individuals. #PoEcap

Now that my capstone experience is coming to an end, I wanted to give some advice to future capstone students. 1.) Don't leave things until the last minute, so you have time to review and feel confident about your work! 2.) communication with your advisors is essential! #PoEcap

Learn, act, and amplify are great components to add to urban climate justice education. Further research needs to look into overcoming time barriers. Additionally, more opportunities need to be given to BIPOC leaders. #PoECap (6/6)

We found the most helpful components in overcoming climate justice barriers in urban environments where Learn (address knowledge barrier), Act (address resource barrier), and Amplify (address opportunity barrier). #PoECap (5/6)

During my internship with Seattle Shapers I...1.) created a survey focused on barriers preventing climate justice action 2.) analyzed different literary sources on climate justice education components 3.) compiled findings in climate justice web-resource. #PoECap (4/6)

The main aim of my research was to answer the question "What components are the most valuable when it comes to teaching climate justice in urban communities?" #PoECap (3/6)

My main motivation for focusing on this topic was due to the fact that low-income and BIPOC living in city environments are the most at risk to face climate consequences (pollution, heat islands, food disparity, etc.) and lack proper environmental education. #PoECap (2/6)

During the summer, I interned with Seattle Global Shapers to create a climate justice resource. My internship revolved around the importance of specialized climate justice education in city environments. #PoeCAP (1/6)

@kim_nawon Our target population was targeted towards Seattle voters and vulnerable communities. Since voting is one of the main ways to act on climate injustice, we wanted to make sure voters were informed. If I could redo, I would have liked to get more survey data from south Seattle!

@bellak211, who was your target population for the survey and why did you choose the particular population? Would you have chosen a different audience if you were to redo your #POEcap?
