Of all the flags though, this may be the most special. First year playing #adpativegolf due to challenges created by muscular dystrophy #fshd. Hope this is the first of many but having a progressive disease with no clue on severity or timeline, relish in it while I can @USGA

@jminceyturf Battery technology. Now we can work with similar efficiency as gas outside noise ordinance windows. This also translates to robotic mowers in rough. All of this trickles down through operating freeing up labor hours and resources affecting multiple line items.

Agronomy has evolved fast — from better chemistries to technology like precision spraying, moisture management, and data-driven decision making. Curious to hear from others: what advancements have had the biggest impact on how you manage turf today?

@5FootNothinPod Alabama had how many yards of rushing in the SEC Chamionship? Texas Tech and BYU looked good? Nick Sabin suggested maybe the most common sense approach. Teams ranked 1-12 make up the playoffs 🤷‍♂️

The wrong trees in the wrong places on a golf course can have serious and sometimes unexpected consequences. This story about some very stubborn black locust trees is a great example 👇

@USGAGrnSection How about technology integration. Last time I checked Android and Apple don’t limit data integration and sharing. Why is our industry stuck in silos? Why doesn’t the USGA lead this charge of data sharing and integration. Not a money issue either when you have APIs.

What do you think is the biggest challenge facing the golf course maintenance industry?

@GCIMagazineGuy It’s in the numbers. There is a benefit to the little mowers in rough right now. Just need to run the numbers course to course. Fuel, parts, and quantity of cuts are game changers. We even built a test solar charger for one of these to offset infrastructure costs.

Left San Diego less optimistic significant self-driving golf mower adoption will occur in the near future. Huge service and support hurdles exist due to trained technician shortages at all levels of the industry. The risk of technical gaffes is top of superintendents’ minds.

People often make the mistake of focusing on what should be done while neglecting the more important question of who should be given the responsibility for determining what should be done. That's backward. When you know what you need in a person to do the job well and you know what the person you're putting into it is like, you can pretty well visualize how things will go. #principleoftheday
