@ZubyMusic My current main source of income are my book royalties, which I get paid twice a year. A lump sum of royalties reaches my account in December, and by January, I lose the entire sum (plus more) to taxes. It does make everything feel kinda pointless 🫠🫠

If everyone had to pay taxes as a lump sum payment once per year, like many business owners, I am convinced there would finally be a revolution.

@ZubyMusic One time I received an out of the blue offer to write material for a film marketing campaign with a major studio, which I was absolutely sure was a scam. Turned out to be legit 😁

If you can consistently tell the difference between an opportunity and a scam, your probability of success will skyrocket. I don't know how learnable this skill is though.

@ZubyMusic I was 17 when I first started submitting novels to literary agents. I was 34 when I finally landed a publishing deal. Perseverance pays off 💪

I used to sell my CDs on the street and in malls. I sold over 30,000 albums HAND TO HAND. I've approached hundreds of thousands of people in person and been rejected hundreds of thousands of times. If you think a mean comment online will deter me from greatness you are insane.

I had a wonderful birthday yesterday. I'm grateful to God, my family, my friends, and my supporters in every corner of the globe. I received SO many kind messages that I can't read them all, let alone reply to all, so I just say THANK YOU! I am humbled and honoured. 🦁

@angexistence @ZubyMusic Respectfully, I find this attitude strange. I have friends/family members working min wage jobs as it gives them more time at home with their kids, or because they're a few years off retirement and see no need to climb a corporate ladder. Society needs people to work those jobs.

I would never mock somebody for having a 9 to 5. That life isn't for me personally, but anybody who earns an honest and ethical living should be saluted, not torn down. We need more of that. Not less.
