The couple slept for nearly seven hours. They later found him unresponsive. Instead of calling for help, they staged the scene to look like he died sleeping in his playpen, cleaned the area with bleach, and lied to police. The baby was pronounced dead on August 1, 2025. The medical examiner ruled it a homicide by suffocation. The couple was arrested in April 2026 on charges, including aggravated manslaughter, child neglect, evidence tampering, and false statements. Their 2-year-old daughter is in family custody.
