About 7 years ago I vacationed in Kauai and being a giant nerd, wondered how many waterfalls there are. I went home and wrote some neat Mathematica code and counted them all. Today, I wondered about that project, but not having access to the data, I simply prompted Claude Code to do it all from scratch. It took me about 2 minutes to kick this off, and it did much more comprehensive data analysis and graphing that I ever had time to bother with the first time.

Honestly wonder with modern electric motors why they don't just build the blades directly into the casing like this obv with a center hub for stability. Avoids tip clearance issue altogether

TIL on Jet Engines like the GE90, the casing physically squeezes or expands (thermally, via bleed air) to maintain blade tip clearances of ~0.5mm at full thrust. They are literally using thermal expansion to adjust blade tip clearance for efficiency 😆

@SawyerMerritt @Tesla Won't be valid in California where they don't allow rates based on driving behavior monitoring. Also it's just the per mile rate reduction, there is still a fixed base rate, so it might "only" be a total reduction of maybe 25% if you always drive on FSD. Still not bad!
