@scott_d71073 It wasn’t a complaint. I was saying scoring that many with only 4 threes in 2026 is insane. Which it is.

@BenBrandonHoops Seriously? They shot 54% and had a bunch of dunks. They didn’t need to shoot threes today.

I watched a lot of Hawaii hoops this year. This was the only result possible. Respect to them, but the talent discrepancy was as wide in that matchup as any in the 1st round. Hogs did what they should even in the worst shooting performance of the year. 97 points with 4 threes is insane! Onto Saturday! Let’s keep dancing!

@BenBrandonHoops I’m not trying to be snarky, but it’s not insane. The 1991 Arkansas Razorbacks averaged 99 PPG on 6 three point FG per game. Every team in the NBA averaged well over 100 points per game in (for example) 1962 and they didn’t even have a three point line.

Being up 15 at halftime in the NCAAT is a great feeling. With that said, felt like it could have been 25. Classic case of things being extremely easy early and then start playing with your food. Start the 2H the way you started the 1H to really stretch this lead out and then you can cruise a little. GO HOGS

@ArkansasQuant @HawgHoops I know you’re not. You’re worried about certain fanbases getting interactions. My point remains: if you care that much, put your twitter police hat on and get busy with everyone. Not with just me. Have a good day and go Hogs

@BenBrandonHoops @HawgHoops I wasn’t defending him. Just like I wasn’t defending the Kentucky guy the last time we had this convo. Let’s just agree to disagree.

Brother in your reply the other day you complained about “having to see a tweet.” Let’s take it easy on pointing fingers about being triggered. I also told you if all this is bothers you so much you better police everyone and not just me, but here we are again. Lastly, a quick scroll through his timeline will show you this is not at all what he was looking to accomplish. The guy replied 10+ reiterating his incorrect point. He believes what he’s saying and standing firm. Not engagement baiting.

@jpure90 @nhhorton Oh it’s not the only measurement by any means. It’s just what Nic chose to use in his initial post. Sometimes people destroy their own arguments and don’t even realize it. Nic did here. Really a tough look for basic intelligence.

Personally I think measuring a coach by conference tournament titles is dumb regardless who it is. Should be two criteria: - Regular season conference titles - NCAA Tournament performances. Really the only things that matter. However, him saying they were elite 8 quality coming off a dismal year is kind of disingenuous

John Calipari ran the Kentucky program into the ground, quit and walked away from a lifetime contract, and then inherited an Elite 8-level program from Musselman—and now everyone from the national media on down is acting like he’s a magician for winning a conference tournament. It’s honestly bizarre. People’s memories are so short.

@jpure90 @nhhorton Personally, I enjoy winning of all kinds, but given that the conference tournament title was the bar he chose to discredit Cal for while praising Muss, it’s a pretty easy point to make against his weak and sad argument.

@BenBrandonHoops @nhhorton Who gives a crap about conference tournament championships…..it’s about your performance in the NCAA tournament. Muss had more recent success than Cal in that measurement.

I am amazed at your ability to miss the forest for the trees, Nic. Truly, you have a gift! We love Muss. We truly do. However, anyone with a few working brain cells and a ear close to the ground know these things to be true: A. Muss’ NIL numbers had tanked and were going to continue to tank. B. His final season revealed that and it was going to get worse. That’s why he wanted to jump ship. C. After Musselman left, they were about to hire Darrell Walker(he was just fired 2 weeks ago) or Chris Jans(he could be fired next year). So knowing those things to be fact, yes, Arkansas fans are thrilled to have avoided that disaster. Could coaches not named John Calipari have accomplished this? Sure, but none of them were coming and that’s evidenced by the near hiring of Walker and Jans. That’s where the program was when Muss left. There’s the forest. Plain as day for you. Be educated. It is often wise to be quiet and learn from those who understand what’s going on.

The entire time Musselman was at Arkansas, all I heard was how the program was so much better than UK, UK sucked, blah blah blah. But the minute he was gone, the whole narrative changed. "Oh man, things were so bad, thank God Cal came in and fixed everything!" See the replies in this thread for an abundance of proof. Give me a break. He took Arkansas to two Elite 8s in the time that Cal won ONE tournament game. It was obvious to everyone—including ALL Arkansas fans—that Arkansas was surpassing Kentucky as a program in those years, as Arkansas fans constantly argued. But now? Oh no, things were so horrible! Thank goodness the guy we HATED for 20 years at the program we said he ruined came in and fixed it all! 😂
