@BenBrandonHoops That’s some of it. Some s trying to play by the rules when others weren’t. Some immediately ran with it as pay to play. Lots of reasons….it doesn’t fall on one guy. Especially as it was new to everyone at the time. Now it’s a race to the be the NY Yankees of college sports.

@BenBrandonHoops This will be the trend at many schools as NIL dollars need to be maximized for the programs people care about most (may change per school). All the more reason these big teams are all hiring GMs to help with funding and recruitment. It’s all way too much for 1 AD.

@BenBrandonHoops These players are looking out for themselves, and rightfully so. Don’t think this is as big of a program issue as you’re making it sound. If Meleek and Billy have better changes of success moving to the league than I hope that’s what they do.
