To put this in perspective, this railway is costing (minimum) £1,000,000 for every 2 metres of track. Planning on it started in 2009 and it won’t to be completed until earliest the 2040s. It’s only 215km long. Will take over 30 years to build. China built a faster train line that’s over 6 times longer than this one in three years. And that Chinese railway cost at least five times less (£21bn) to build. HS2 has cost us more than it cost the US to fly to the moon.

@MWeaver72139842 No the debt of Wembley is paid off I do think it should change. Community shield neutral, fa cup semi final back to two legs, fa trophy/national play off/football league trophy finals played neutral venue. Play offs scheduled when prem has finished, will bring better tv audience

Wembley is not the attraction it once was either to play at or watch . It would be interesting to know how many Bolton and Stockport fans would prefer to play their playoff game in Manchester to avoid an expensive day

@MWeaver72139842 The actual inflation of ticket prices kinda matches, it’s rail/fuel/food/drink prices which have driven all the other costs up

My trips to the Fa Cup finals in the 80s cost me under £25 for ticket and travel . Today will cost me over £200. My weekly wage has not increased by 8 times, that is for certain . Football is not for fans it's for those who can afford it .

This is one of those design / marketing moments where I just scratch my head. There are huge readability & brand issues. - Different color green - The green is too dark against the black - disco ball texture looks pixelated on a tiny phone screen A kinda dumb mistake.

77' All the energy from the three home stands, and from the players in blue and white, has just dissipated from Edgeley Park atm. Mansfield looking fairly comfortable and controlled and County looking like they've lost their way. #StockportCounty (0-1)

#stockportcounty 9 first team players out and fans are booing at the end of the game. Cheadle end silent all game. Barely any fans clapping the players at the end. Home games are proper wank now.
