@NatalkaKyiv Then 10s of thousands of ordinary Russians will go missing, be tortured, intimidated, etc. They don't yet understand that this is existential for Putin. They should still do it but he doesn't seem to grasp the situation. - they need to move together all at once.

@DominicCardy Obviously Trump created the problem in the first place but we started from a place of that bridge being closed because he owed favors to an important donor so I like to think we both gave something. I do see where you're coming from. I wasn't in the room. Hard to say on this 1

@BenLP9 Acting in good faith would have been to ignore his illegal demands and open our side of the bridge. We're now complicit in his corruption. And CUSMA's not being renewed; I can't see our concessions on the bridge not leading to concessions on broader trade. You?

@DominicCardy I think given the CUMSA negotiations we probably had to move on something. I understand where you're coming from though. I just think at some point if we're not acting in good faith he won't budge - he doesn't seem to care if it's wrecking him (as evidenced by mid-terms)

@BenLP9 Based on your fella you know the consequences of appeasement: small concessions lead to large ones. We allowed a foreign government to rip up a contract we'd already completed and then signed a new one more advantageous to them. We gave Trump a win before the midterms. Bizarre.

A remarkable story from Chasiv Yar. Two wounded Ukrainian soldiers spent 12 days carrying their injured brother-in-arms on a stretcher because he could no longer walk. The three soldiers of Ukraine's 24th King Danylo Separate Mechanized Brigade had just left their positions after 354 days defending one of the most brutal sectors of the front. One of them, 32-year-old Vitalii, had suffered a fractured bone and a severe hematoma. Evacuation by vehicle was impossible—russian drones controlled the roads and targeted anything that moved. For 12 days, his two comrades carried him on foot. Throughout the journey, medics delivered antibiotics, painkillers, and bandages by drone, allowing the soldiers to keep Vitalii alive. Only after all three finally reached a stabilization point did doctors discover that the two men carrying Vitalii were also wounded. They had needed medical care themselves but spent those 12 days focused only on saving their brother-in-arms. All three are now receiving treatment. This is what true brotherhood looks like.

@warrior_na92602 He was fickle and had some questionable positions but he was one of the few friends of Ukraine in this administration. Time will tell but I'm sure that saved Ukrainian lives. I'll take it. RIP Graham

@nafoIam @Oksii33 I guess because of lack of transportation they can't store the grain or move it fast enough. Farmers can't always store it themselves or they need to have it dried industrially. The whole supply chain is fucked. They're going to lose even more grain - it'll sprout and rot.

A grain collapse is brewing in Russia against the backdrop of a fuel shortage. The ports of Rostov, Azov, and Taganrog have already stopped accepting grain.

Man. Imagine you invaded a country. Told everyone you’d have them “demilitarised” in 3 days. Then 4 and a half years later. You lose 100 ships in 4 days. To a country that doesn’t even really have a Navy. Sucks to suck, I guess. Skill issue.

Europe has handed Putin a €6bn boost this year after buying a record amount of gas from a key Siberian plant. Russia’s Yamal export hub sent 136 tankers of LNG to Europ in the first half of this year, with the largest volumes going to France, Belgium and Spain. - Telegraph Europe just can't stop shooting itself in the leg 🤦‍♀️
