Man, this one stings. A lot.
Why do bad things happen to good people and good friends?
Life just isn’t fair, damnit.
No parent should ever have to bury their kid. Ever. 15 years is too fucking young. Didn’t even know what life was all about yet.
Park the damn combine and go to the game tonight. Go to the choir concert before starting tomorrow. Take a break for dinner with your family.
Hug your kids tighter (as much as the little shits can piss you off sometimes) and don’t take a damn thing for granted. Cherish every last “daddy” or “mommy” … This one is a harsh reality check that we don’t know when something could be the last.
Be a friend, tell a friend, check in on a friend.

This past week has been interesting for beef cattle producers, to say the least. Who knew that an interview and a social media post from the President could send the market into chaos and unite ranchers from every political spectrum and various ag associations?
As we look at the chaos of the last several days, and as the dust settles following the now-released USDA plan, I've pondered a few fundamental truths that I hope we can all reflect upon:
- Nobody is a better advocate for your way of life than you. No lobbying group or association can tell your story better than the people who live it. Your story is powerful, and it needs to be heard.
- Decisions are made by the people who show up, and if there's one thing I've seen in this past week is that there are so many ranchers who have gotten loud and engaged in the political process, and rightfully so. But we cannot just do it when our back is against the wall or the market takes a hit; we need to show up consistently, sharing our story repeatedly.
- When truth, conviction, passion, patriotism, and leadership shows up in a cowboy hat, it makes a difference. We need more independent producers to speak up, show up, and stand up. Together, we are a strong and powerful voice. Alone, we might not be able to move the needle, but standing locked arms, we can achieve much.
- The elephant in the room continues to be the packer monopoly, where 85% of our beef supply is held captive by four major players, two that are foreign-owned. I will continue to ask our politicians the question, "What exactly is the threshold for a monopoly?"
- Ranchers don't want a handout. We don’t want a bandaid on a bullet wound. We want a fair and even playing field to compete. Beef can stack up in the meat case against any competition. American ranchers raise the best beef in the entire world. Let us compete!
- Good fences make good neighbors. We need to urge our elected officials to protect the nation's cow herd from foreign disease. That means securing our borders from Foot and Mouth Disease and New World Screwworm. No unfunded mandates for electronic ID tags for U.S. producers. Let the burden of cost and regulation be on the foreign producers who want to do business here.
- Consumers deserve transparency and truth in labeling. If it says “Product of the USA,” it better actually be true. No loopholes that allow for the mislabeling of products; our customers deserve better.
- Beef demand is at a 40-year high, and we are not losing significant market share to cheaper protein sources like pork and chicken. This tells me consumers love what we do. They trust our product because in America, innovative cattle producers have focused on quality, consistency, taste, flavor, tenderness, and marbling. This is an exceptional product that people want. Willing buyers and sellers coming together. That’s free market capitalism, just the way we like it.
- If budget constraints are an issue at the grocery store for American families, it is up to us to educate folks on cost-friendly cuts such as ground beef, rump roasts, chuck eye steaks, etc., and how to prepare them. When buying beef and eating it nose-to-tail, beef is very economical! And it’s a nutritional powerhouse, to boot! Sure, a ribeye or a filet mignon are pricey, but it takes two years to get this rare and valuable cut on the plate. There is a reason it is expensive, because these cuts are coveted and desired by buyers!
- Even in the midst of extreme market dips, confusion, angry rhetoric, and industry in-fighting, there's a silver lining in all of this -- the fundamentals cannot be slowed down. Our nation's cow herd is at an all-time low, and auction barns across the country are reporting record-high sales. For those of you who have been in the grind and survived through the ups and downs of this way of life, it's time to be paid. High prices are a great incentive for ranchers to continue doing what they do best, without government intervention.

- Finally, just like many of you, this morning, my husband and I got up early; fed the cattle we are so proud of; hoped and dreamed for what is ahead; and will continue to work hard doing what we love to do. God has blessed us with the opportunity to be stewards of the land, the livestock, the natural resources, our children, and our community. May we never lose sight of exactly that.
This is a way of life worth fighting for. I pray we all find strength to continue to stand up for it.
God bless,

Pray with me (Philippians 4)
October 9, 2025
Father in Heaven,
You are the God of peace who calms every anxious heart. Today, I bring before You all my worries, my fears, and the noise that tries to steal my focus. I choose to rejoice in You, not because my circumstances are easy, but because You never change. You are good, You are faithful, and You are near to all who call on You.
Lord, teach me not to be anxious about anything, but in everything, through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, to make my requests known to You. I thank You that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Let that peace rule me from the inside out, even when the world around me shakes.
Help me, Lord, to fix my thoughts on what is true, honorable, just, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy. When my mind drifts toward fear or negativity, bring me back to Your truth. Let my life be marked by contentment, knowing that in every situation, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Provide for my needs according to Your riches in glory, and make me generous toward others as a reflection of Your provision in my life. Thank You for being my source, my supply, and my peace.
To You be glory forever and ever.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

Lord, 🕊️
We come before You as Your Bride—watching, waiting, longing for the sound of the trumpet that will call us home. You see us searching in the Bible, in the news, waiting in prayer again and again! We wake up hoping, “Maybe today,” and go to bed thinking, “Maybe tomorrow.” You see how deeply we long for You—and that ache inside that nothing and no one on this earth can satisfy!!
💪🏼We’ve walked through excitement and then disappointment, Lord. We’ve seen the mockery and felt the loneliness of this world. We’ve endured the silence after a thousand “high watch days” came and went. But still—we CAN'T STOP WATCHING! Because the desire to be with You, and the ache of having to live in this sickening world, keep pulling us upward—stronger with each passing day!!
💔Some of us are tired, Lord—spiritually, emotionally, physically. Our lamps feel dim (though we know they are full because of Your Holy Spirit), sometimes it feels like You’re so close, and then suddenly so far again. But in the midst of that pain, our desire for You grows even stronger, and our hope in You doesn’t give up! It’s the only thing that keeps us going every single day!
⛺So today, Lord—Feast of Tabernacles—the feast that points to the day when You will dwell among us forever, when our waiting will end and our faith will become sight—breathe on Your Bride again and keep our heads LOOKING UP!
🪽Let this day remind us that soon we will no longer just long for Your presence, but live in it! Soon the ache of being without You will end, and there will be nothing but joy as You tabernacle with us, face to face!
⛪Lord, we ask You today to please touch every weary watcher whose tears have fallen unseen.
Lift up every bowed head, every heart whispering, “I can’t hold on much longer.” Remind them—You are not absent. You are not delaying without reason. You are finishing the final work of Your age of grace, gathering the last names written in the Book of Life.
🙌🏼And Lord, while we wait, we cry out for the lost—those last souls who have not yet called on Your Name. We pray for sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers, brothers and sisters, uncles and cousins, friends, neighbors, and strangers—you know who they are. Lord, snatch them from the fire! Give them one more chance to call upon Your Name! Some are doubting, some are blind to the truth, some are angry, some are haters and mockers—but You still see them! We ask You now to send Your Spirit to touch them, to break through pride, deception, and rebellion!!! Whisper the truth one more time: Jesus saves, and let Your mercy sound louder than the noise of this world. Let conviction fall like fire and burn in their hearts so that they cannot resist any longer!
🎺And when the last one has entered in, when the fullness of the Gentiles is complete—sound that trumpet, Lord! Take Your Bride home!
🕊️Lord, wrap Your arms around the Bride today. When our hearts cry out, “How much longer, Lord?”—remind us that soon and very soon, You will come. Overflow our hearts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, refresh our minds and spirits, strengthen our bodies, and replace every heaviness with joy. Let every watcher know—You see them. You’re coming. And when You do, every tear, every doubt, every moment of waiting will turn into eternal joy.
⚓Thank You for everything You are doing in our lives! Keep us faithful. Keep our hearts burning with desire for You. Keep us in Your love until that trumpet sounds!
🔊Our Church says: “Even so, COME, Lord Jesus!
Come for Your Bride!!”
We pray all this in Jesus’ Name. Amen. 🙏🏼
Maranatha!! KEEP LOOKING UP!

I understand the sentiment, but what if people didn’t watch the Superbowl this year? Didn’t watch football this year? If stadiums were empty, that would show, more than anything, that people are sick and tired of having socialist/marxist/communist, and socially perverse nonsense forced on them while watching football. It’s hard when your favorite past-times have been perverted.
