@OnewithGod3990 If Rooney goes to French League in his peak he’s scoring 30+ goals a season easily. Rooney is waaaaay more versatile than Neymar and also just an all round better footballer. Neymar was sensational for 4-5 years. Rooney at very top for 14-15 years in tough league.

Avoided the premier league though to have these stats. Even ran away from Spain. Some players kept themselves in the toughest leagues all through their prime. Not for all players Neymar played for himself. Rooney played for the team.

Just for the record Rooney never said he was better than Neymar. He simply said he doesn’t belong in the conversation with Messi and Ronaldo, which if you don’t agree, footballs not for you.

@OnewithGod3990 You must be a young football fan who watches comps more than matches. Neymar was a fine footballer but as an all round footballer he’s not in Rooney’s league. More flashy but runs from the better leagues. Messi elevated him.

@OnewithGod3990 Ok. So on that logic. Bobby Charlton is better than Neymar. In fact anyone that has 1 World Cup is better than Neymar. You could have played Rooney anywhere on the pitch and he’d have been class. He was the total footballer. Even for United he played 5 different positions.

This “tired” excuse is so lazy. PL clubs blow others out of the water financially. If players are playing too much then blame the managers for flogging them. For so many years the PL has been nowhere near as competitive as people make out. PL has every advantage.

"English teams are suffering because they're tired" Players to play 2000+ League minutes this season: Arsenal & Liverpool: 7 Chelsea & Man City: 6 Real Madrid: 5 Sporting CP: 4 Newcastle & Spurs: 3 Atalanta, Atletico Madrid & Barcelona: 2 Galatasaray, Leverkusen, Bayern & PSG: 1 Bodo Glimt: N/A (League season hasn't started) Majority of Premier League sides have played 1 more game than Serie A, 2 more than La Liga, 4 more than the Bundesliga & Ligue 1 We also have 2 domestic cup competitions... However... they also have an incredible financial advantage and should be preparing to peak at this stage. Slot for example is a terrible rotater. I don't like making tiredness the sole reason for the PL's struggles, but it's undoubtedly a factor.

@Mike87_United 1.55 PPG in those 20 games. 2.44 in last 9 including games like: Away to Arsenal Home to City Away to Newcastle Home to Villa All top 6 sides last season. That’s before you even get started on Amorim return from first season. And to cap it off HE blamed others for it!!

Said it before if you have teams in PL regularly getting 90+ points and not dominating Europe then sadly the evidence is the league you herald as “competitive” in fact very much isn’t. I actually think this season a bit more competitiveness has come back in top to bottom

Given resources, yes he should have won more. Fergie should have too. It’s not easy to win CL and much more unpredictable than a league season. I think also for at least 3-4 years of his reign the PL as a whole was not high quality e2e like many always claim.
