My rent in London was less than half what it was in New York ($1,000 per month vs $2,500).
In London most people don't live in the center, as there are plenty of nice, safe, cheap places within 30 mins to 1 hr commute. In New York basically everybody lives in the center and almost everything safe is expensive.

Cette dissolution absurde nous a donné une Assemblée où un gouvernement pour être stable devait être soutenu soit par JL. Mélenchon soit par M. Le Pen. Ce sera donc la seconde solution. Ce sont désormais eux les maîtres du jeu avec comme seule perspective, 2027.

Je pense en effet qu’il aurait fallu rapidement lever l’hypothèque d’un gouvernement NFP et, après l’inévitable censure, chercher du côté du centre gauche.

@GerardAraud Il aurait pu donner la possibilité à @CastetsLucie de créer des compromis au Parlement (ce qu’elle avait annoncé). S’il y avait eu censure, il aurait pu se tourner vers un centre-gauche qui alors n’aurait peut-être pas été censuré par le NFP. Mais, il n’a rien tenté de cela…

Current LLMs are trained on text data that would take 20,000 years for a human to read.
And still, they haven't learned that if A is the same as B, then B is the same as A.
Humans get a lot smarter than that with comparatively little training data.
Even corvids, parrots, dogs, and octopuses get smarter than that very, very quickly, with only 2 billion neurons and a few trillion "parameters."

Animals and humans get very smart very quickly with vastly smaller amounts of training data. My money is on new architectures that would learn as efficiently as animals and humans. Using more data (synthetic or not) is a temporary stopgap made necessary by the limitations of our current approaches.

@littmath Hey ! Not an expert (just MA in mathematics) and reading the thread made me want to read the paper in detail. What I got from my quick thread reading was the crucial role symmetries play in the classification. I think one need a bit more than linear algebra to appreciate.

@AndurandPierre I think it is very risky to apply some sort of “game theory” logic to what Putin might do/might want. You do make a point that any rational Russian leader wouldn’t want a confrontation with NATO. Putin has proven he’s not a rational man and US/German concerns are founded imo

I understand that the US and Germany are afraid of Ukraine joining NATO in the near future as they do not want to go to war with Russia. But that comes across as weak and only encourages Putin’s aggression. Why don’t they realise that Russia also does not want to go to war against NATO? And all Putin has to do is call it a day, bring the troops back to Russia and call it a victory. If he says that the goal has been achieved, that Ukraine has been destroyed enough and they have learnt their lesson, would the Russian people complain or clap? We should do more to help Ukraine achieve victory as soon as possible. They are fighting bravely for all of Europe and they deserve more support
