@PoliticsForAlI @WalesOnline The only conclusion is that Mark Drakeford is losing the plot when you factor in the fines for going to work as well.

@christiancalgie The dire festive TV schedule definitely wouldn't be improved by a Boris, Chris and Patrick Christmas Special

@theJeremyVine That should be covered by the £350m a week extra they are getting after Brexit, right?

@TheScepticIsle I think he wants a world cup every 2 years to line the FIFA coffers. I suppose after Sepp Blatter they need some funding that won't get them arrested by the FBI

@tomhunt1988 Like many lockdown rules, it sounds badly thought out and difficult to enforce. How is a police officer going to establish if you can work from home or not?

Absurd. On so many levels. Good luck policing that grossly illiberal and draconian rule.

@benjaminbutter Maybe we should have a lockdown for the overweight and the elderly as these are also high risk factors? Interested to see how far you want to go with this argument

When half of all people hospitalised with Covid are unvaccinated, despite being only 10/15% of adults, there needs to be a lockdown for the unvaccinated to protect the NHS. It’s their choice. Why should the whole country be shutdown for the sake of an irresponsible few?

@statsjamie @SadiqKhan I heard the other day that 30% of Londoners are unvaccinated. Seems well above the national average but guess this might explain it if true

🚨🚨 @SadiqKhan "The really bad news is those in hospital - the vast, vast majority are unvaccinated" FACT CHECK ➡️ Nationally around 40% of patients admitted to hospital unvaccinated. We don't have numbers for London but if what he is saying is true it bucks national trend.

@JohnRentoul The Conservative party has never shown any mercy to leaders who've become an electoral liability. He's toast and not even because he's stuck his neck out for an unpopular but necessary policy. It's just because he had a party or two

@BellaWallerstei There's minimal opposition to anything she does. Scotland is basically a one party state and thanks to the SNP so is England too

@toryboypierce They'll struggle to fit into many post 1945 homes. Had a conversation with the plumber during my yearly boiler service about them. I'd have to rip up the ground floor of my house for something that provides worse heating than my gas boiler.

Govt's own report finds heat pumps - the preferred alternative to gas, oil-fired boilers - cant be fitted into pre-1945 homes. They shd' have done the report before ordering us all to remove boilers by 2035

@DPJHodges They always came a very distant second. Lib Dems are always the party of choice for disillusioned Tories so seems that was the logical place to switch their vote.

Some really weird analysis from Labour supporters this morning. Labour came second in North Shropshire in the last three elections. To be serious about forming the next government it shouldn't be going backwards in seats like this. Shows the party's offer is still far to narrow.

@JuliaHB1 That's not really surprising given that the CMO's overruled the JCVI. As a parent it would be difficult to know whose opinion to go with

We keep seeing polls showing mass support for jabbing children - even as young as 5. What the *parents* of those children THINK is revealed by what they DO: fewer than 45% of 12-15 year olds have been jabbed since the rollout began in September. The polls are lying. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I don’t trust the Prime Minister, but I do trust the NHS. If anyone can pull off a million vaccinations a day they can. Let’s get Britain boosted to protect ourselves, to protect the ones we love and to protect the NHS.

I'm flying to the US tomorrow. The process of Covid test certification and veri-flying and sorting documents in general is now so digital and complicated, I was tempted to say, age-istly, how on earth do you do this if you're an old person, before realising I am an old person.
