Tomorrow, October 29, is the 53rd anniversary of the Birth of the Internet! Happy birthday, old friend. Let’s remember to acknowledge that event when the first Internet message was sent from UCLA to SRI on October 29, 1969. Does anyone remember what that first message was?

@RedRunTurf this is on the replant from November. I let it get from 550 thou to 950 before the first mow. First cut was 555, week and two mows later I went to 500 but seeing some scalping. I'm going to be less aggressive on my way down to 375 and eventually to 125.

@TurfBergers @RedRunTurf @buganza_turf Definitely overdid the top dressing. I was trying to correct grade issues because mowing was a problem. I corrected the grade and 007 bent green version 2 is doing great.

@BenWerthmann @RedRunTurf @buganza_turf That will do it. If you’re gonna put that much sand down, you just water it and wait for it to grow through. Don’t touch it

@RedRunTurf @TurfBergers @buganza_turf I did the work myself. Only compaction of the top dressing is rolling/mowing with a GM1000. lots of leveling rake to spread. Fert burn is possible. Cold Sand. I had decided to resod if I could not get it to bounce back. Hail Mary: remove sand with a power bristle (bruising) broom

@BenWerthmann @TurfBergers @buganza_turf The quantity of sand applied had nothing to do with whatever is going on in that last picture. Hard to tell if the sod is dry or bruised; but I can promise that beautiful, heavy topdressing wasn’t the cause. Did they vibratory roll on top of the sand? Fertilizer burn? Hot sand?
