Everyone's talking about #AI. But real, practical guidance on how to use it in the lab is still hard to find. That’s why we started #AIForScientists. We’re bringing together real examples, practical prompts, and honest stories from scientists using AI for R&D, whether they’re using Benchling or not. ✨ See how scientists are actually using AI: benchling.com/ai/ai-for-scie…

#Benchling AI now writes and runs Python in your research workflow. Our Deep Research Agent handles statistical analysis, data transformations, and complex calculations automatically, returns results for review, and logs them to your scientific record. Just describe the chart or analysis you need. Benchling AI does the rest. #AIForScientists

How do you turn a failed phase 3 into a blockbuster drug? Kate Haviland, former CEO at @BlueprintMeds, did it with Ayvakit. Instead of abandoning the program, Blueprint went back to the data and bet on a patient population that no one had treated before. On #Transcribed, Kate talks to Benchling CEO @sajithw about navigating clinical setbacks and the strategy that led to a multi-billion dollar Sanofi acquisition.

Kate Haviland, former CEO of @BlueprintMeds, and her team turned an expensive Phase 3 failure into Ayvakit, a first-in-class therapy for systemic mastocytosis. On this episode of Transcribed, Kate takes us inside the company-defining pivot from oncology to immunology that ultimately led to Ayvakit and a $9.5B acquisition by @sanofi. I hope you enjoy this episode of Transcribed, which was recorded live in front of 500 scientists.

Still spending too much time on lab documentation? Here’s how #AI can help: ✔️ Transcribe kit protocols into Benchling templates ✔️ Turn whiteboard sketches into structured experiment entries ✔️ Clone past experiments and modify sample counts/controls ✔️ Import CRO data and notes into entries simultaneously Learn how: benchling.com/blog/4-ways-to… #AIForScientists

There has been no shortage of excitement about CRISPR, but turning it into medicines has been slower and harder than many expected. @janiceschen, cofounder & CSO at @mammothbiosci, isn’t fazed. As a grad student in Jennifer Doudna’s lab, Janice helped shape early conversations around CRISPR. Eight years in, she sees a path to eradicating certain genetic diseases. On Transcribed, Janice and I talk about expanding the CRISPR toolkit, proving real-world utility, and building when science outpaces the system. Plus, the story of how Jennifer challenged her to aim higher and start her own company.

🧬 What if we could eradicate certain rare genetic diseases, like we did for infectious diseases such as smallpox? @janiceschen, cofounder and CSO at @mammothbiosci, thinks #CRISPR could do it in the next 10 years. On #Transcribed, Janice talks to Benchling CEO @sajithw about founding Mammoth straight out of the Doudna Lab, why the biggest barriers to gene editing aren't scientific, and how they developed a COVID test in days.

Your lab meeting just ended and your PI’s whiteboard sketch needs to become a proper notebook entry. You could transcribe it from photos and scattered notes... or just let #AI handle it. We show exactly how, with copy-paste prompts: benchling.com/blog/4-ways-to… #AIForScientists

"The centrifuge was run at 5000 rpm for five minutes, with a stuffed cow placed on top to keep it happy." 🐮 Don’t worry, you’re not the only one who does it. reddit.com/r/labrats/comm… Happy #Fridaythe13th to the most logical yet superstitious people we know: scientists!
