As a RS Freshman, Micah Alejado missed two games and played the entire season with a lingering foot injury, but still threw for 3106 yards and 24 TDs. Pofele Ashlock caught 76 balls for 827 yards and 8 TDs. Everything starts with these two, the deadliest QB/WR combo in the G6. With the loss of two starting receivers to the portal, the WR room was restocked. Alejado's favorite at Bishop Gorman, Washington transfer Audric Harris comes to the island, along with ISU transfer Carson Brown, OKST transfer Tre Griffiths, and VTech transfer Devin Alves. The room also returns Tama Uliata, the reliable slot WR who caught 28 balls as a freshman last season. The RB room returns Cam Barfield, a shifty RB that averaged 4.6 ypc and 9.5 yards per reception last season. DeVon Rice transferred in from Kansas State and is poised to have a huge 2026 after having a great spring. Rice, a former Hawai'i commit is one of thirteen Bishop Gorman alum on the roster. Two starters on the OL return and Oregon transfer Lipe Moala and USF transfer Khalil Walker solidify the line along with several other contributors from last year's two-deep. The defense loses half of last year's starters, but bring back four of their leaders, LB Jamih Otis, CB Elijah Palmer, DL Luther McCoy, and LB Wynden Ho'ohuli. DC Dennis Thurman also returns. Former CB1 C-Bo Brown returns to the island after one year at VTech to team up with Palmer, the best nickelback in the G6 and the rest of the secondary was replenished with Wake Forest transfer Jaylon Edmond, MSU transfer Jeremiah Hughes, and UNLV transfer Kodi DeCambra. Part-time players Elijah Gipson and Matagi Thompson return as well and FCS all-star Joenel Figueroa joins the room. The front seven returns rising star Lester Lagafuaina, veterans Luther McCoy, Jamih Otis, and Wynden Ho'ohuli. Several high end FCS contributors join the fold as well and the Bows bring back multiple young players that are ready to contribute this season. The schedule is what entices me the most about the Bows exceeding expectations. Hawai'i will out-talent almost every team on their schedule. New Mexico State, Wyoming, Northern Illinois, UTEP, Nevada, and Sac State look like absolutely free wins. The Bows then get UNLV, a rebuilding SJSU, New Mexico, and new FBS member North Dakota State at home and open the season at Stanford, who they beat last season. It is very unlikely that the Bows can't win two of these games. Their game against Arizona State game is already counted as a loss in this equation. The Bows play arguably all their toughest games at home in front of the entire island. Manoa Magic is real. Mountain West After Dark on the island real.
