I’ve been working with @gcdiscipleship to collect some of our best resources about the local church. The book will launch Tuesday, January 28, 2025! This collection of essays has been a great blessing to me. Hoping it will bless many others.

Last night, my wife and I had a fight. It was a loud enough fight that the 2 oldest kids heard it upstairs (or they snuck down and sat on the stairs, I’m not sure). When my wife went upstairs they expressed their concern to her. She told them, “We disagree sometimes.

I highly recommend @gavinortlund's book "The Art of Disagreeing." It is saturated with grace and biblical wisdom. If you are looking for a resource to help you grow in godliness when in the middle of disagreement, this will serve you well. Thanks, Gavin!

As our church has been going through 2 Corinthians, I’ve been reflecting a lot about both what we communicate from the pulpit and how we communicate it. This article is an overflow of those reflections. gcdiscipleship.com/article-feed/p… Thanks to @GCDiscipleship for publishing it.

Ben Sasse is a national treasure. Do yourself a favor and carve out an hour to listen to this interview. Best thing I listened to in a very long time. Moving, powerful, thought provoking, and many more.
Hoover Institution@HooverInst

In December 2025, former US Senator @BenSasse announced that he had been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. That's the primary topic for this @UncKnowledge conversation about mortality, faith, and what truly matters when time is short. Talking to host @P_M_Robinson, Sasse reflects on "redeeming the time"—holding ambition lightly, loving family more deliberately, and resisting the urge to make politics or professional success the center of life. The discussion also covers Sasse's thoughts on the failures of Congress; the dangers of a fragmented, attention-starved republic; the crisis of higher education; and the moral challenges of technological abundance. He speaks candidly and movingly about regret, forgiveness, prayer, and suffering—arguing that while death is a real enemy, it does not get the final word. Watch the full conversation on X:

@drewdyck @NancyGuth3 Oh man. I saw this last weekend, which was the first time I heard about it. I kept googling and thought, no way, now way, not her. Then I realized it’s not her.

I find myself increasingly chastened to offer comment on the hot button justice issues of the day. The death of any human being made in God's image is a tragedy and should not be an occasion for snark. But our cultural moral outage seems so selective. Some questions in a 🧵:

.@AdamMerrivale, I've always loved your blurb awards. This year I had a real LOL at one of the awards...because in a weird way, I was part of it. I wrote a post about blurbs and thought you might like it. Thanks for doing those awards! Love them. benjaminvrbicek.com/blog/2026/1/20…

Very interesting thoughts on books & endorsements, etc. by @BenjaminVrbicek Gulped hard at this: “think of the book Dangerous Callingby Paul Tripp, which addresses the many dangers, toils, and snares of pastoral ministry. Ironically, of the original five endorsements on the back cover, three of the men have been removed from pastoral ministry for moral failure.” open.substack.com/pub/benjaminvr…

Sometimes it’s hard to know how to stand with fellow pastors when they face hardship—suffering, sickness or the public eye. Our brother @jonathanparnell has just been thrust into the public eye in ways he never asked for that won’t end quickly. Join me in blessing him: a coffee, a lunch, some cash for babysitters to rest after this.
