Chipotle announced they were having a buy one get one free deal between 3p-4p for a day. People started lining p around 2:00 to participate in the promotion. At about 2:40pm the manager at the Bronx chipotle shut down the store and did not open again until 4p. The manager then told the people who have been waiting in line for 2 hours that the promotion was over and they were not doing the buy one get one deal. What’s messed up is they knew they weren’t going to participate yet they did not tell anyone nor did they have a sign saying they weren’t doing it either. Since the kids have been waiting there patiently, shouldn’t they honor it anyways?

They documented the physical world at a scale no mapping company with a fleet of vehicles could have replicated on the same timeline or budget. Niantic collected this systematically, data point by data point, across eight years, while users thought the only thing at stake was catching a rare Charizard. The most valuable AI training datasets in the world aren't being assembled in data centers. They're being built by people who have no idea they're building them.
