Watch out for those who have less protection than you. Motorcyclists share the road with you, but they are far more vulnerable. A quick mirror check, a careful lane change, or a little patience can save a life. Drive aware. Drive responsible. #MakingSafetyAHabit

A powerful moment from the 21st MUEHSA Scientific Conference 2026… The conference featured an engaging panel discussion by the MakSPH Centre for Prevention of Trauma, Injury and Disability (CTRIAD) titled: “Addressing Drowning in Uganda: What can Environmental Health do?” Moderated by Ms. Lillian Tushabe, the panel brought together diverse expertise from Bonny E. Balugaba, Peter Simon Okello (MakSPH CTRIAD), Hasifa Rachel Nalweyiso (Reach A Hand Uganda), and Lawrence Okoth (Design Without Borders). The discussion highlighted the urgent need to recognize drowning as a preventable public health issue and emphasized the role of environmental health in designing safer environments, strengthening community awareness, and fostering cross-sector collaboration. A proud moment for the MUEHSA family 👏🏽 Our former Vice Chairperson (2024/25), Bridget Ahumuza @breeeex77, featured in the Daily Monitor with a powerful article titled “Stop Misusing Malaria Medicine.” Her voice adds to the national conversation on drug resistance and responsible health practices, issues at the core of Environmental Health. This is a true reflection of the impact MUEHSA leaders continue to make beyond the classroom, shaping policy, influencing behavior and protecting communities. Congratulations Bridget for flying the MUEHSA flag high and reminding us all of our role in safeguarding public health. #MUEHSAForLife

We were honored to receive welcome remarks from our MUEHSA Patron,@Mubeezi1Ruth, whose message was both affirming and inspiring. She appreciated the impactful work MUEHSA continues to do through its various initiatives and activities, especially outreach efforts that promote health and safety among vulnerable populations, such as the Mulago School of the Deaf. She highlighted the critical role of equitable partnerships in influencing policies across both private and government sectors, and emphasized that the integration of knowledge across disciplines is key to achieving sustainability. Ms.Mubeezi also extended her appreciation to the organizing committee for a job well done, as well as to our funders, partners, and alumni for their continued support. She further encouraged participants to embrace networking as a powerful tool for growth and collaboration. Her remarks were a strong reminder of the impact of collective effort and the value of staying connected. #MUEHSAForLife #MUEHSAConference2026
