Italy (not a grass pitch in the country) are now combing the globe looking for players with any bloodline connection from an ancestor who was alive after the Kingdom of Italy was established in 1861 ! This is a joke @ICC It makes a mokery of cricketing nations who build infrustructure and develop the game and introduce young people to cricket ! JOKE !

The disconnect between Joe Burns and the Italian Cricket Federation is real and delicate. From Italy's perspective, Burns is no longer a required player for the upcoming T20 World Cup following a series of disagreements internally. As for Burns, he has voiced his concerns to the World Cricketers' Association (WCA). He's always maintained he was playing to honour his late brother, but now Derbyshire skipper Wayne Madsen will captain & ex-South African player JJ Smuts has made himself available. It's a bit of a mess Burns & Italy didn't need. @SEN_Cricket @1116sen

Should always be case as long as the best young players have a route into PL cricket. The SCL rules do dictate/benefit those big clubs who can get their 2s into Div 2 though, fair comment? Do free flow leagues exist in Oz?
