Our 3rd edition of our Stand Up To Cancer cricket match takes place this year on Sunday 27th August 1pm at East Preston CC and will again be dedicated to the life of Deborah Rebbetts who we lost two years ago to Cancer. There will be a BBQ, bar and refreshments available…

Tough times, and thanks to the Sussex cricket community offering support. We are talking to the @SussexCricketLg about the remainder of this season and beyond. We’ve all made mistakes (apart from our umpire 😊) and we will learn from ours.

Due to ongoing player availability issues, we have had to concede our 2nd XI game this Saturday against Ifield 3s - third time this year for our 2s. We have learnt a lesson, and used the telephone to contact Ifield this week. Apologies again @findoncc.

3 had injuries and could barely walk; 2 recovering from broken finger/side strain; 1 immobile 60yo; 3 u15s unsafe to play div5. 5/5 END

All of the eleven that played in the second team were bona fide 2s players and, whilst many have already stepped up to the first team on multiple occasions this season, it was just not possible to do that this week. 4/5

Firstly, the club apologises unreservedly to @findoncc (and @SussexCricketLg ) for what happened this week. We should have informed Findon that we could not put out a first team. That is inexcusable. We will be undertaking our own internal review to ensure that 1/5
