Important to remember, considering the Jazz will only draft one of these players, this is their last chance to talk to a lot of these guys before they become free agents.
Teams use these workouts as a chance to get to know players for trades/signings years down the line.

When you see Mikel Brown Jr. coming in, I think that gives you a sense of how many work outs the Jazz will probably be doing.
I'd imagine the majority of the top 10 ten projected picks will come in.
I don't think any guard (outside of Peterson) is in serious consideration at 2.

Mikel Brown Jr. tells me he’s been fully cleared of the back injury he suffered at Louisville, per medicals at the NBA Draft Combine. His first workout is this week with the Utah Jazz. Brown is a projected top 10 pick in the 2026 draft.

Should note, technically this isn’t true.
The Grizzlies get the best pick of the Jazz, Cavs, and Timberwolves, and if either Cavs or Wolves pick ends up top 5, it does go to Memphis.
BUT, I think most people assume neither Cleveland nor Minnesota will be in the lottery.

Between winning the coin toss with the Kings, then moving up to 2 in the lotto, then these upcoming reforms retroactively hurting the Grizzlies in the JJJ trade, the Jazz are walking away from the lottery business on a hot streak.

Can confirm @MikeAScotto’s report that Shane Fenske is taking over as GM of the @slcstars.
He’s been with the @utahjazz FO for several years.
Former GM Katie Benzan is NOT leaving the organization, but she is changing positions with the team.

Fully understand. I listened to your show and you putting the wizards down constantly. This is a new era. No team has drafted better than the Wizards since 2023. I just think you need to respectfully update yourself unless you’re just mad like a lot of jazz fans that we got #1. Not to mention the ace Bailey and Will Riley stuff

Talking to people who have been through the process with high lottery picks and late first rounders, I just don’t get the sense that job as a scout ever feels easy, even in a ‘good draft’ like this one.
“Easier to find a really good player but still hard. It’s all projection.”

While they weren’t as high on this draft as some fans/analysts, they did seem to agree with the consensus about the tiers in this draft, and thought the Jazz were in a good spot.
“There is definitely a gap between the top 4 and picks 5-12… depending on physicals.”

I share this because I think fans will see a lot of “it’s an easy choice, just take [AJ, DP, Boozer, or Caleb] at two,” and I don’t think any front office actually feels that way.
In general, scouts are way more diligent, and skeptical than fans.
