She had her baby six months ago, her weight came back down, but her stomach still looked pregnant, and no amount of gym time was fixing it 🧵. She was doing everything "right," watching her food, crunches every morning, planks till her arms shook, everyone kept telling her to just tighten up her core, so that's what she tried. But the bulge down the middle of her stomach wouldn't move, if anything it looked worse the more she worked out. Sound familiar? If you've had a baby and you're still seeing that pooch no matter how disciplined you are, I need you to stop blaming yourself for a second, because this isn't about effort. When she came to us she also had lower back pain that wouldn't go, we examined her and found it, a visible gap running right down the middle of her abdomen, her ab muscles had literally separated during pregnancy and never came back together. This is diastasis recti, and here's the part that surprises people the most, it's not fat, it's not a lack of discipline, it's a structural gap between your ab muscles, and doing the wrong exercises can actually widen it. Think about it this way, your abs are like two sides of a zip, as your baby grows that zip stretches wide open to make room, after birth it's supposed to slowly zip back up, but for a lot of women it just doesn't, and nobody tells them that. Almost every pregnant woman experiences some of this by the third trimester, so if this is you, you didn't do anything wrong, your body was literally built to stretch this way for your baby, the issue is only when the gap doesn't close in the months after. So how do you know if this is you, a ridge or bulge down the middle of your stomach especially when you sit up, a stomach that still looks a few months pregnant no matter your weight, back pain, a core that just feels "off," sometimes even leaking a little urine when you laugh or sneeze, because your core and pelvic floor are connected. Now here's where most women go wrong, and please don't feel bad if this is you too because almost every woman does it, they go straight for crunches and sit-ups to "tighten up," but those exact moves increase pressure right on that weakened midline and can pull the gap wider instead of closing it. What actually works is completely different, deep core activation, breathing retraining, pelvic floor coordination, and a slow guided rebuild, not another fitness video promising flat abs in two weeks, this is where physiotherapy makes the real difference, closing the gap the right way instead of fighting it. For the more significant cases, especially where there's a hernia involved or the gap stays wide despite proper rehab, surgery can be an option, but that's usually only after conservative treatment has had a real shot first. So if your stomach still looks pregnant months later, if crunches seem to be making that bulge worse, if your back has been acting up since delivery, please see a physiotherapist before you touch another core workout plan. Your body grew a whole human, the least it deserves is the right kind of help closing back up, not another reason to feel guilty in the mirror. Has this been you, or someone close to you?

I want France to beat Spain and Argentina to beat England. I want the two to meet in final. Then, France should do the same thing Argentina did to them, at the last world cup. In other words, I'm rooting for France to win the cup.

As I'm eating this shawarma, I'm just thinking of how sweet it would've been if I'm eating it together with this woman on a date, and the cream is all over my mouth, and she licks it off my my mouth, then I return the favour tooo🥹
