@edmunds_dr @jonathaneshaw 1 and 3 weren’t too bad this year, they certainly improved paper 3. We’re changing board for this year’s intake.

@BernardRand @jonathaneshaw Yeah, last years papers were collectively awful. This year papers 1 and 3 were fine I think, but paper 2 was not. Will be having meetings in Sep to decide on leaving AQA for as soon as 2026 entry.

@jonathaneshaw @edmunds_dr It’s true because last year’s paper 2 was similarly awful.

@edmunds_dr Our students did well but I think paper 2 was far too difficult and I'm convinced 2 of the MCQs had no correct answers. AQA's email is defensive and difficult to credit re paper 2 scores.

@PaulCaden1 @ChatPhysics Mount a modern super bright led with focus above it and play around with the distance. A bike light might do the job. Kill other light sources and see if you can create some beauty on that paper.

@ChatPhysics any tips on securing success with the ripple tank Can get a reasonable wave when projected onto paper but when put through a visualiser nothing. Is it case of getting the whole class around a piece of A4?

An easy little demo, boiling water below 100 degrees.

@mrlouieevans Kettle boiled and then poured into small beaker and left for a minute so I can make sure I don’t burn myself. I had the seal fail on a syringe doing this recently so definitely not too hot.
