@WaltTkaczuk @ChristophE55272 @LongTimeHistory Your manners are terrible. Beside that, the point is simply, this looks like a kidnapping for any third party - which is relevant for the right to mutual defense. It is completely irrelevant for that point if it is legal or legitimate, what you are relating to.

ICE detain mother at airport—traveling with young daughter. First reported kidnapping at airport since Trump ordered ICE agents to report—refuse to show ID. "I don't know who you are!" witness yells. "You could be someone kidnapping her!" Agent continue to refuse to show ID until bystanders agree they should call police to report a kidnapping. Incident occurred at the San Francisco International Airport Gate E2 on March 22, 2026, at 10pm. #DemsUnited

@scottwhite1065 @LongTimeHistory She saw a kidnapping, she could have also directly engaged in mutual defense. What those "agents" do is stupid as fuck and might get agents hurt seriously.

Agents in the middle of detaining an illegal immigrant who is resisting are not going to just stop and let go of that detained person because some lunatic liberal decides to play airport avenger The person demanding id could have dialed actual police if they thought something was wrong.

@anniea_916 @LongTimeHistory According to DHS they were ICE. But that is terrible practice, if you don't wear a uniform, at least be quick to show the badge and act professional. Else people might see a kidnapping and act accordingly. Which is then also legal.

@LongTimeHistory I firmly believe they aren’t real ICE & they’re kidnapping this woman in plain sight. In many pictures of ICE in airports they’re wearing a standard brown vest that says ICE POLICE. These 2 aren’t even wearing the vest you normally see on the ones that prowl our neighborhoods.

@ChristophE55272 @LongTimeHistory She has to ask, else she can engage in mutual defense to stop the kidnapping, e.g. by using physical force against them. What else should a bystander do, when they witness something that looks like a kidnapping or attack by e.g. an ex-partner? The can be happy she asked first.

Never go to the airport without a REAL ID. The woman looks like she's resisting and sounds like a foreigner. The ICE agents were doing their job. If I was one of the ICE agents, and that bystander woman asked me repeatedly for a badge number, I would have put the capture of that potential illegal on hold long enough to arrest the American women with a big mouth for distracting this operation.

@ljcaron7272 @LongTimeHistory It is her right to resist to some guys who look like randos and don't show a clear ID or wear obvious uniforms, who try to kidnap her. If they would act like professional police, there would no be such problems.

@christinmassey @Boomerexistence @LongTimeHistory Correct, they behave like some criminals, and here at least don't look like some goons, but also just like some travelers. I would not believe them they are officials, and they als risk that somebody acts - and then legitimately - in mutual defense.

@ladu33471 @Ravi72807668 @atrupar Most of that is absolutely legal and an important part of the workings of a liberal democracy. It is only ICE who is at fault there. People have a right to do those things, and ICE can consider them annoying, but that's it. They can't attack those people.

@Ravi72807668 @atrupar how about not stalking agents, impeding, obstructioning. I get this activity is condoned by Lt governor to police chief but it ain't real bright. Let's drop you into this situation and see if you feel threatened. This idiocy does not promote a safe enivironment.

@BlaineStewart16 @atrupar It is a fundamental right to monitor, observe, record and also protest law enforcement. What we see on those videos is just that, not direct obstruction. It seems you don't understand the concept of a liberal democracy and you wish for fascism.

@atrupar Obstructing law enforcement isn't protesting, it's illegal. Leave law enforcement alone, be OK. Do not leave law enforcement alone, not be OK. Normal people instinctively understand this concept.

@JacobLaney69 @7living_life @electionsjoe The requested entry, after trying to just walk in. Also it is not their job/competency to request entry to an embassy or consulate, that should only be done via a diplomatic note from the Foreign Service / Secretary of State directed at the Foreign Minister/Ambassador/ Consul.

@WitherSDL @MarkSchmidty @electionsjoe That's not correct. They are just, unlike embassies, not absolutely protected. E.g. no matter what is on embassy grounds, and if it is a shop (which some embassies have) that is protected. That is not the case for a consulate. The protection where it applies, is pretty similar.

@BerndHuck @MarkSchmidty @electionsjoe What the fuck is this answer? Consulates are inviolable. Well not completely in violable though. Yeah Bern, we have a word for that. Violable.

@7living_life @electionsjoe With a minimum knowledge international law, you would know that it violates as well century long customary law, as also explicitly the Vienna Convention. Consulates have no absolute protection, but same protection as embassies, for all areas that are used for consular activity.

@MarkSchmidty @electionsjoe That is simply wrong. Both are inviolable, only that the consulate is not absolutely and completely inviolable, but only the parts that are actually used for diplomatic or consular activity. Else the protection against entering is similar.

@electionsjoe This violates long standing norms and customs but is lawfully defensible. A consulate is not an embassy. Unlike embassies and ambassadors, consular buildings are not inviolable and consular officers and employees do not have immunity. There is no international right of asylum.

@n1ght_br33d @electionsjoe They can stop to comply with the law. Which is a huge problem for everybody, because then diplomatic representation will be impossible. We have those laws for a reason, and there's a reason, that countries comply with them. And that also before the '61 convention for a long time.

@electionsjoe You do understand 'international law' is strictly agreements between nations yes? There is no police force to enforce it therefore the reason they issued a 'note of protest'. A strongly worded letter as it were because there isn't shit they can really do and vice versa.

@ArtChart23 @electionsjoe There was no emergency. An emergency is considered e.g. an active murder going on there just now or a fire, with a risk that it spreads to other buildings. You are the one, who obviously needs to read up the convention and the legal commentaries.

@electionsjoe Dumbshit. Consulates do not have same level of immunity as embassies and do not require permiission of host countries to enter in case of emergency. So please STFU when you have no idea what you are talking about :)

@Shelflife0 @lcgrant05 @electionsjoe It is the Vienna convention, but yes. It is a grave violation of international standards and laws, and it is agreed on law also long before that convention.

@akdhrbfi @electionsjoe You’re about the dumbest cunt I’ve seen. We choose to honor and can revoke at any given moment that suits us. This is our country and the consulate is here by our grace. It is not an embassy and doesn’t fall into those international laws.

@Traumathurgy @electionsjoe Yes, but the US gave up jurisdiction there to a large degree, and agree to not enter it. That is a part of the Vienna convention, which you obviously don't know. Entering a consulate or embassy, is a violation of international law.

@imstartingover1 @BGOnTheScene @DemocratPlague The driver is an ass. Using a deadly weapon against protesters. Instead of having the balls to get out of the car or to wait for the police to remove them. Also why the fuck such vehicles against protesters? That's not a warzone. What kind of vigilante thugs and cowards are that?
