Not seeing my name in the opening credits as the writer, I sent an email to the producer saying basically WTF Then I looked again and realized my name was up there. I wanted to crawl under a rock for a week. I apologized. Didn't hear back. Someone smart advised me to email again to ask for a meeting. He's busy but agreed. It was postponed 2x but we finally met on Zoom last week I didn't mention my faux pas, neither did he. We talked about the state of the industry and making Indie Films, selling them, distribution, financing, tax rebates, the producer game. I mentioned this project, adapted from my bestselling novel. He pictured where he would shoot it saying he's always wanted to film there. Said, "Send it!" Now he's reading. He may decide it's beyond his budget but this is how it goes down at this level. You casually pitch, agree to send, cross your fingers. I've been hopeful about The Dream Jumper's Promise before so I won't get too excited but he might see a way to make a profit with this movie and that's what it all boils down to.
