Can’t believe it’s been 10 years. Still immensely proud of the story that sits at the top of this list. Happy birthday to a real one.

Roast AND mashed potatoes. Iconic.
Nigella Lawson@Nigella_Lawson
It’s a long list! So: good bread spread with cultured butter and topped with anchovies; spaghetti alle vongole; roast chicken with roast potatoes, mashed potatoes, cavolo nero with anchovies, slow-cooked peas, roast red chicory, and gravy; a lemony fennel salad; crème caramel; passionfruit pavlova; Gorgonzola, Comté and Epoisses with rye crackers

@montygotrawdeal Meh, it’s a gender neutral word that hospo folks tend to use to describe themselves - here and elsewhere. 🤷♀️

@BeshaRodell read your review of the sooshi mango place. My position is we shouldn't import US words like server, which you may use when you're writing for your US publications - we're not America here, we call them waiters. Server, while permissible in the US, is otherwise a

@afreemoniker I think...we actually agree? I didn't expound on the idea of Chinese Australian in the way I did Italian Australian, but my point is that both of these things exist in the same way they exist in their American forms.

What is Australian food? This is a great piece by Besha Rodell, and it also happens to be exactly the topic of a TV series Poh and I have been making for the past few months (and which will be on air in August). 📺 smh.com.au/goodfood/stop-…
English

@dryadusingh So many great examples of Indian food through an Aus lens. Vegemite curry with roti! As well as the more common curries (though most are similar to what you'd find in UK/US). Not excluding anyone, would be impossible to name check every cuisine, but point taken.
English

Come on,@BeshaRodell, you didn't mention anything about ubiquitous and more popular Indian curries. Unfair? smh.com.au/goodfood/stop-…
English

@cameroninegypt It did! But it isn't nearly as ubiquitous there, and it's also not the same as our Capricciosa. The whole point is, many things originated elsewhere then became distinct through the lens of Australian cultural forces.
English

@BeshaRodell Every source I see on Google says that the Capricciosa originated in Italy?
