@BespokeEB As far as I can see, the study is making two separate points: one is about health; the other is about transfer from cars to cycling (omitting public transport altogether).

It appears from this report that the study only compared walking and cycling with driving. Public transport doesn't seem to feature at all. A serious flaw.

@BespokeEB I’d suggest there’s more than 2 perspectives! There a plenty of drawbacks to SUVs, but the child safety argument the Mayor is making is clearly very weak

These stats appear very misleading, how many children under 9 get hit by SUVs? Whereas I expect far far more are involved in accidents as passengers, and they’re far safer in an SUV than a smaller car The net result, kids less safe, but you can raise more from a bs SUV tax
