@WasAcop @kezia_noble 2/ and of course you used road tax to imply cyclists don't have a right to use the road, but that isn't correct. It's we as drivers who don't have a right to the public highway. Our driving is a privilege.

@WasAcop @kezia_noble It's not the same, and as a driver, we're all freeloaders. The sum of motoring costs far outweighs the sum total of motoring taxes. Each driver is subsidised some £2,500 per year per taxpayer.

#VanguardRST officers recieved information that this vehicle was being driven by a Provisional Licence Holder. This is despite the driver having been stopped by #VanguardRST on 2nd July and strictly told not to drive until she had a full licence and insurance, in accordance with the law. She chose to ignore police warnings and continued to drive (illegally) anyway. The vehicle was seized and the driver has been reported to court to face-up to the consequences of her actions. #NoLicenceNoCar #DriveInsured #PassYourTest #DVLA #NoExcuse

It's easy to get away with using your phone behind the wheel once. What about for a whole week? A month? I or another camera user only have to catch you just over once every three years, and you'll be disqualified. The idea that anyone anywhere could video you any time takes all the fun out of anti-social driving. The sense of paranoia really eats away at you. The public made 150,000 video allegations across England and Wales in the last year, most were prosecuted. There are tens of thousands of people with video cameras who report bad driving.

A tourist was seriously injured after a bison tossed a car into a bus shelter. I can't believe more people aren't talking about this.

These 46 affordable homes were built to Passivhaus standards on two sites in Harpurhey for local families, including 28 for Social and Manchester Living Rent.🌹 Both part of our Project 500 scheme with @ManCityCouncil to use our own land for more low carbon and social housing.🏡

Of course people have been injured and/or killed because of a stationary phone driver. This is because the driver has their head buried in their phone, and when they don't move off when the rest of the cars do, someone behind beeps and they shoot forwards without looking. They don't have any situational awareness of bicycles and motorcyclists filtering, of pedestrians crossing, despite the highway code expecting you to keep looking around when you're in the queue. Then the worst part is that phone use is like doing balloons - the cognitive impairment from phone use lasts at least 27s after putting the phone down, so these drivers are driving off drunk. Mark Hodson, a now retired top UK traffic officer, attended three fatalities caused by a driver texting whilst stationary, just like the above describes. This video shows how easily it can happen: youtube.com/shorts/EjhVesw…

@witty_brit_ @viyvotvoy It's very good for society to report these traffic offenders, and it's morally good too. It's only bad if you too are a traffic offender and don't like the idea of being caught so easily.
