After several weeks of tough hunting I FINALLY got it done today in Illinois on a public land buck. Feeling thankful & blessed for sure. Now back over to MO for the weekend see what happens there!

On our last day here a VERY proud dad moment occurred. With the encouragement & expertise of our incredible PH, our daughter got her very first big game animal. Words can’t express the emotions, so proud of my girl on a perfectly placed shot on a beautiful white Blesbuck.

Last night we had our first rattlesnake of the year in the yard about 10 feet from our door, he got away underneath our shed. Turned out to be an adult 4 foot Mojave Rattlesnake. I have the 12 gauge waiting for him to come out from hiding tonight, not taking any chances this time. Same coloring as the picture, I've only seen 1 green one since I've been here.

@Hunter9David Congratulations that’s always tough, we sold the house I grew up in when we built a new one in 2020. I literally cried.

Saying goodbye to what we thought was our forever place, bitter sweet that’s for sure. On to the next! We move in this weekend to the new house

@PatriotTanker @MeatEaterTV At this lodge we have eaten Gemsbok almost every day it has been fantastic, definitely my favorite so far. Gemsbok quesadillas & ravioli were my family’s favorites by far.

@BessDbess Yes, Devil’s Toll Race. Starts at Tom Sauk, ends at Johnson’s Shut-In. 13 miles of the roughest that Ozark Trail has to offer.

I love these rugged Ozarks. I have twice traversed Missouri’s most rugged trekking challenge and plan to do it again this year.
