Children that died in #Bessboro could be buried anywhere. At the time a map was drawn up marking an area as a Childrens Burial Ground(CBG) a 10 year old boy witnessed seeing an open grave of 3 to 4 babies in an area behind the farm which is on the opposite side of where the 1/3

In 2021, the Mother and Baby Homes Commission concluded that it was "highly likely" some of the hundreds of missing Bessborough children were there. Cork City Council's decision to grant permission for 140 apartments on the site is genuinely shocking. irishexaminer.com/news/spotlight…

#Bessboro is a place of trauma as well as unmarked burials. It’s where 923 babies were born that died. It’s the place mothers & children were never to see each other again.Least we forget.Bessboro cannot become a sprawling housing estate. Investigate& preserve #MotherAndBabyHomes

This is not about housing but profit. This is not about the women & children that had so much taken from them. #Bessboro is a place that still holds so much trauma. The pain from not only losing a child but from the injustice of it never being properly. 1/9

@Independent_ie There should be NO further development on the grounds of #Bessboro. This development will lead to others & decimate this area. There are several areas of interest regarding burials. Honour those that died in a meaningful way. This was the last place my mother saw her baby alive.

Here we go again…. Planning at #Bessborough. The farmyard area is a very sensitive area. Children worked there with their mothers. Children were buried in areas around it. 761 children died at the premises of which there are no known marked burials for them.

Bessborough House is an historical building and is preserved and so is the landscape in front of it. This cannot be built on so don’t let the developers make believe they are giving anything away.

Developers are trying again to put a foothold in developing on the grounds of #Bessboro. If one gets through the others will follow. ‘The Farm’ development will destroy our history. In this area witnesses saw burials take place. So much has already been lost @MichealMartinTD

Really, language means so much , firstly when my mother was in Bessboro in 1960 there was no antenatal or postnatal care for her. There was no medical care for her baby.
