Feeling conflicted. I love all of the creatives involved. It’s got a phenomenal cast. I just feel like an Earth-bound Green Lantern story isn’t a great look. It feels like how a lot of Doctor Who stories wind up being set in the UK because of the budget.

The Phantom Menace is for sure 4th best Star Wars film, because Lucas *had to* get it right. For the first time in a decade his reputation was truly on the line.
Once TPM was a massive success, there was no pressure to make EPS 2&3 perfect. He could do what he wanted.

I was 10 when it released in theaters so this was a formative experience for me. I’ve seen it on re-release too. If you haven’t seen it in a theater you owe it to yourself to make it happen for anniversary screenings.
