No1. Bet Low was #BOTD1924 in Gourock. From 1945 Glasgow was her home. Teacher training failed to inspire and Bet began working for Unity Theatre designing sets. She also sketched street scenes in central Glasgow. This small self portrait dates to 1952. Photo: George Oliver
