No1. Bet Low was #BOTD1924 in Gourock. From 1945 Glasgow was her home. Teacher training failed to inspire and Bet began working for Unity Theatre designing sets. She also sketched street scenes in central Glasgow. This small self portrait dates to 1952. Photo: George Oliver

Excellent walking tour led by @BetLowCreates this morning around sites in the city centre linked to artist Bet Low (1924-2007). Final day of her centenary exhibition at Reid Gallery GSA before the show goes to @PierArtsCentre (1 March-7 June).

No51. In 2001 @UofGlasgow celebrated the 550th anniversary of its foundation. Bet sent two works to their fundraising art auction. During her career Bet generously sent artworks to a number of fundraising art auctions organised by various Scottish charities. Photo: Astrid Horn
