@davidfrum I usually appreciate and agree with your opinions. In this case, I think you could benefit from taking time to ponder the possible virtues of Bitcoin as a hard-money alternative to gold rather than accepting the popular skepticism. Thanks anyway.

The main argument for a Strategic BItcoin Reserve seems to be that Bitcoin holders worry about an impending shortage of greater fools and need the US government to act as the greatest fool of last resort.

One lb of 80/20 mince (ground beef) is 800g lean and 200g fat. But the lean is mostly water. It's only about 200g of protein, whereas the fat is essentially all fat. So that's 1:1, or about 69% fat by calorie. If you were trying to get 2:1, you'd have to add 200g of fat. But!

I'm highlighting this precisely because it's not a dumb question. Fat:protein ratios are confusing because they're expressed in at least 3 different ways: % calories, gram to gram fat to protein, and gram to gram lean meat to fat. So for example,
