Y'all! It's World Water Day. Donations are matched at World Vision today and I'd love to have you join my team: TeamWorldVision.org/participant/BL…
$50 brings clean water to one child.

"You’re almost a communist if you do not pick an upset like this."
It's March, which means filling out your bracket is just around the corner. Always entertaining, I read @thepowerrank's top 5 tips for filling out your bracket every year.

Guys. @thepowerrank is my favorite place to get betting info in general, and for March Madness specifically. I can think of 49 reasons why you should start your bracket predictions even this early by reading Stanford PhD mathematician Ed Feng’s newsletter today:

Today is Ishmael’s birthday 🎉
Ishmael lives in Rwanda and chose me through World Vision’s Chosen program in 2023. Instead of me picking a child, he picked me, and that still humbles me.
Child sponsorship is a monthly commitment that supports a child’s well-being and development through World Vision’s work in their community.
I get letters from Ishmael. I get to pray for him. I get to watch him grow. And he knows someone across the world knows his name.
If you’ve ever wondered whether sponsorship makes a difference, I believe it does.
Would you consider becoming a sponsor too?

Five miles today — the farthest since the boot came off — along a quiet, beautiful (if slightly cold & windy) Chicago lakefront.
Ran/walked with Jeannie, then coffee with Lydia & Amami too.
I’m training for the New York City Marathon with a goal: 26 children sponsored before race day on 11/1.
Would you learn more about sponsorship by visiting my page?

Kelce is now three weeks past his bilateral CCL surgery 🐾
This week brought a little scare with a stiff left leg and signs of pain while walking. Outside he mostly wanted to sit or lay in the sun, which honestly neither of us minded thanks to the good weather. After some recommended rest, planned for 3 to 5 days but lasting about a day and a half, he seemed to bounce back to where he had been.
His stitches have finally dissolved and his wounds are fully healed, so to Kelce’s delight, I removed his cone. After a walk I also removed the harness, which has made him much more comfortable and lets me pet him properly again.
We still have five more weeks of pen life ahead of us, so recovery is far from over, but we have made it this far.

Today I rang the gong at Rush Orthopaedics after completing physical therapy.
That means I’m officially cleared to train for the New York City marathon after finishing PT for my stress reaction last summer.
I’ll be honest — I’ve rung that gong a few times before. I’m really hoping today was the last.
For NYC, I’m running with World Vision with a simple goal: one sponsored child for each mile, 26 children total.
Each sponsorship changes not just one life, but an entire community.
I’d love for you to be one of the 26.

This is one of my sponsor kids Emmanuel.
As we close out the year, I know you have many meaningful options as you wrap up your 2025 giving. If you’re still deciding, I would truly be honored if you chose World Vision to close out your charitable giving this year.
Just $50 brings clean, lasting water to one child, and child sponsorship goes even further, impacting families and entire communities for years to come.
As the clock turns to a new year, maybe this is the moment to start 2026 with a resolution that truly matters — to help change the world in a tangible, life-giving way.

Tomorrow is Christmas, and that also means it's my sponsor child Emmanuel in Burundi's birthday. His name means "god with us", so no wonder his parents named their Christmas baby this inspiring name.
For some reason, Emmanuel is often washing clothes in his photos. This time he has Chicago Bulls patches on his pants, and I can only hope he knows he has a deep connection to Chicago through our relationship.
You can sponsor a child for Christmas like I sponsored Emmanuel 6 years ago. I'm raising support for my New York City 2026 marathon with World Vision. Find out more at TeamWorldVision.org/participant/BL…
