@guyfelicella You know what works best of all having a job to go to. Self respect, accountability, self-discipline, regulation of emotions & actions, self responsibility, pride are all the wonderful side effects of being employed. No better treatment out there.

There are detox, treatment, and recovery services available, and people access them every single day. But you know what also reduces public disorder? Places for people to actually go... Shelters, drop-in centres, and supervised consumption sites. When people have nowhere to go, the street becomes the default. Also if people truly believe there’s no hatred or hostility toward people struggling in the community, they should sit in on some of the calls and conversations happening behind the scenes. If we’re serious about public safety, then we need to be serious about reality: Harm reduction alone isn’t enough. Recovery alone isn’t enough. You need the full continuum of prevention, housing, harm reduction, treatment, recovery, and support. Because ideology won’t solve this crisis, using every tool available might!
