Name a CPG brand that got better after being acquired. The argument can be made that most brands get worse when they get acquired. And the argument can also be made the brands building to get acquired are innately shittier products because they avoid quality in favor of cheap supply chain for very high gross margins. Private equity buys trust, margin, profit and opportunity to increase all of the above which they rarely do thru improving product, instead they do the opposite because mega scale almost always requires a more stable supply chain with cheaper and lower quality raw goods.
