@Bgeils @KalshiSports I've watched this way more times than any other singular Sox playoff highlight. Electric in a way that exceeded all the others

What’s the most electric grand slam you’ve ever seen? There is a 15% chance that we see a player have a 2 Grand Slam game this season, via Kalshi.

@jrcabral @KalshiSports Plus everyone was expecting Ortiz to hit that grand slam. Whereas Victorino was not hitting anything in the playoffs that year so this was a true HOLY SH&/ moment

@jrcabral @KalshiSports This is my go-to because I was probably the only Boston sports fan that was not watching the Ortiz grand slam game or the Patriots game earlier that day with the comeback against the Saints. It was the day after my wedding.

@jrcabral @xwanyex Yes easily the best team the Sox faced all year in my opinion. I was also terrified they’d spent all their energy in the championship series. But St Louis had fought a hard seven game series as well.

@xwanyex No, I was absolutely terrified of this team and was very grateful that there were two days off between series. If the Cards had won Game 1 with all those Red Sox errors, it's likely a very different series. They were better than the Yankees, no doubt.

Sincere question: do Trump supporters who genuinely want to reduce political violence actually think that lobbing transparently hypocritical accusations about the left's rhetoric is in any way effective? Are we really gonna go through another cycle where MAGA folks point out incendiary rhetoric on the left without ever acknowledging that some of the most violent and incendiary rhetoric in America comes from the President and his supporters? Do you not think the rest of the country has eyes and ears? It's truly awful that President Trump has been the target of political violence. It's also truly awful how he's frequently talked about his political opponents: accusing them of treason, amplifying calls for their execution, publicly celebrating their death, calling them scum, garbage, vermin, animals. It was like 3 weeks ago that he threatened the annihilation of an entire civilization! It was just a few months ago that he and his White House knowingly smeared two Americans who'd been killed by federal agents as domestic terrorists! I hate political violence. I hate what happened last night. Probably 99% of Americans agree. But let's not insult everyone's intelligence by pretending that the most powerful person in the world isn't a huge part of the problem here.

Imagine performing the way that Trevor Story has over the course of this contract and blaming someone else for the coaches getting fired. He's not wrong, but maybe let somebody else be the messenger here, bro. 37 strikeouts in 111 ABs this season.
Tyler Milliken@tylermilliken_

According to @ChrisCotillo, Trevor Story is not happy with the firings that took place yesterday. Story wants to clear the air with Breslow today. Says “some of the best coaches in the world didn’t get a fair shot.” What an absolute mess. This is the leader of your team.

I hated Lucchino but at least he made no bones about the fact that he was a snake. Kennedy is the guy who walks you down the street with his arm around you and a big smile on his face and it turns out he's stabbing you in the back the entire time.
Joon Lee@joonlee

The Red Sox fired Alex Cora. Inside the team, some describe the culture as “toxic positivity" When I asked Sam Kennedy about that, he said: “If the accusation is that I’m… overly positive, guilty as charged.” Inside the Red Sox’s credibility crisis: open.substack.com/pub/joonlee/p/…

The Red Sox blew all their ABS challenges early against the always horrible CB Bucknor and now he’s running amok like Jason Voorhees. I like ABS it’s a brand-new way to get aggravated during a baseball game.

$1.5 BILLION. Let me say it again - a $1.5 BILLION BET. Bigger than any futures purchases made at the time. 5 minutes before Trump's post. Who was it? Trump? A family member? A White House staffer? This is corruption. Mind blowing corruption.

BREAKING: Just five minutes before Trump's announcement to halt the attacks on Iran, massive trades reportedly hit the market. In one move, $1.5 billion in S&P 500 (ES) futures was bought while $192 million in oil (CL) futures was sold. These orders were 4–6x larger than anything else at the time. The trader seemingly made huge gains. Unusual.

These fucking morons are allowing Iran to get $14 billion in the middle of a war against them. This is the biggest, dumbest concession ever given to Iran by the US and all you need to know about what a disaster Trump’s policy is.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent@SecScottBessent

Iran is the head of the snake for global terrorism, and through President Trump’s Operation Epic Fury, we are winning this critical fight at an even faster pace than anticipated. In response to Iran’s terrorist attacks against global energy infrastructure, the Trump Administration will continue to deploy America’s economic and military might to maximize the flow of energy to the world, strengthen global supply, and seek to ensure market stability. Today, the Department of the Treasury is issuing a narrowly tailored, short-term authorization permitting the sale of Iranian oil currently stranded at sea. At present, sanctioned Iranian oil is being hoarded by China on the cheap. By temporarily unlocking this existing supply for the world, the United States will quickly bring approximately 140 million barrels of oil to global markets, expanding the amount of worldwide energy and helping to relieve the temporary pressures on supply caused by Iran. In essence, we will be using the Iranian barrels against Tehran to keep the price down as we continue Operation Epic Fury. This temporary, short-term authorization is strictly limited to oil that is already in transit and does not allow new purchases or production. Further, Iran will have difficulty accessing any revenue generated and the United States will continue to maintain maximum pressure on Iran and its ability to access the international financial system. So far, the Trump Administration has been working to bring around 440 million additional barrels of oil to the global market, undercutting Iran’s ability to leverage its disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz. President Trump’s pro-energy agenda has driven U.S. oil and gas production to record levels, strengthening energy security and lowering fuel costs. Any short-term disruption now will ultimately translate into longer-term economic gains for Americans – because there is no prosperity without security.

I have been informed by NBC that I won’t be back with FNIA this fall and it has given me time to reflect and also to look ahead.    It’s disappointing  news but I want to thank my NBC family for making the last 17 years so special.  I’ll have lasting memories of my time there, especially with Rodney Harrison who has become a tremendous friend.   God has always directed me in these moments and while I’m not sure what the next step will be for me—whether it will be in football, in broadcasting, or getting more involved in church and community outreach —I know God has plans for my life and I can’t wait see them unfold. And I am reminded of one of my favorite verses in the Bible-Romans 8:28. “God works all things for His good for those who love the Lord.”
