Econet Infraco Chairman, Godfrey Gomwe, at the listing ceremony of the company on VFEX. Easily the biggest initial listing in the Zimbabwean history. Glad as VFEX to offer further diverse investment opportunities in property, towers and power.

Last year a young man walked into a car dealership in Roodepoort, Johannesburg looking for a vehicle. Nothing about him raised suspicion. He was polite, well dressed and carried a neat folder of documents. Within three hours he walked out approved for a R540,000 vehicle finance deal. Three weeks later the car had disappeared completely.

Kabelo had signed off hundreds of payments before, so when the request for R2.3 million came through on a quiet Tuesday morning in Midrand, it barely registered as something that required deeper thought. The supplier was familiar, the invoice looked clean, and the timing aligned perfectly with their usual month-end settlement cycle.

Has anyone else noticed this ZSE and VFEX trend?
For ZSE and VFEX stocks, the ones that have the most discussion online and coverage are generating the most trading volume, which also seems to be helping the share prices.
Globally, this has always been the trend, but intresting to observe it in the Zimbabwean context, and it does make one wonder if this is an untapped opportunity some listed companies have not tapped into.

Less gambling (sports betting) & crypto trading is extremely volatile, and more investment in the VFEX.

May sound controversial, but one of the challenges facing the capital markets is the lack of good assets to raise money in USD. The liquidity is there and will increase with some of the delistings. The money paid out to shareholders needs a quality home. If you have a good asset and need money, this is a good time to come to the market.

@DZSiziba @moneymarketzim Part of the requirements to be a quality asset. Quality assets can absorb and require these. If you want other people's money you need to give them comfort

@BgoniJustin @moneymarketzim 2/2 others don’t want to invest in corporate structures & staff necessary for good governance as it may immediately hit their bottom line (eg. need to hire Internal auditors & Co secretary etc, hiring top notch external auditors etc), honest statutory declarations. My take.
