@BharadTA @thespursweb No I get that the cost is higher. But if you miss out, you will have already lost the money. Also paying 2 years of wages AND bringing in a new manager AND then also paying him sounds counter productive to me. Or at least too expensive to Levy.

@simonyemane @thespursweb I guess we will have to wait and see. There have also been suggestions that Jose could be put on gardening leave like Poch was rather than receiving a pay off. Ultimately, the opportunity cost of missing out on CL football is higher than Jose's contract.

@BharadTA @thespursweb What do you make of the reports out of sky and Ornstein yesterday stating the opposite, as well as the financial implications in a pandemic year. I get the “judging by Levy’s record” but this is not any other year, and Jose’s salary is not any managers salary.

Big decision by Jose to go with a back there despite Reguilon not being available. Possibly because he thinks we can hurt Liverpool going forward. We should see Ndombele get on the ball a lot more than he has in other big games

Just like how the West Ham result prompted Jose to change his tactics and adopt a more pragmatic approach, our recent results should hopefully convince him to play more on the front foot instead of defending 1 goal leads. We clearly still haven't found the right balance

@simonyemane Yup. It'll be interesting to see if Dier plays as the sweeper and Sanchez as the RCB or vice versa. I would guess the latter.

@BharadTA same tactics as against Antwerp. high line and the high pressing means the quicker Sanchez and Davis are the better options.

Jose giving Sanchez a big vote of confidence by selecting him ahead of Toby, Rodon and Tanganga. Also pleased to see Davies at LCB in a back five. His most natural position IMO.

The result at Anfield was painful. This one is just disappointing as we got what we deserved. We have just proven all of our critics right with our inability to really impose ourselves on the game even when we were chasing it. Some serious tactical question marks

If Steven Bergwijn has had to limit comments on his Instagram account because of abuse after last night, I just can't get my head around why anyone would do that to him. I thought he worked hard, made some great runs but just couldn't finish two chances in a tough match. (Contd)

Strip away any Mourinho prejudice and the rage of losing in those circumstances, and I struggle to see how that was anything other than a really encouraging performance. Were the better side in 2nd half and created three really good chances to beat Liverpool at Anfield. #THFC
