Streaming services are consolidating, raising their prices, and getting consistently crappier. But is that capitalism's fault? Or is it the fault of politicians who allow big monopolies to lobby for regulations that block start-ups and small competitors? As I argue here, it's the latter. And even in the reddest of states (like South Carolina) we have Republicans (like @SenatorCampsen) holding up legislation that would undo some of this cronyism and allow entrepreneurs to get their foot in the door.

@ClintFiore Big problem in North San Antonio. I would have loved one as a kid but man no idea about traffic laws and 35 mph is a bad combo.

My bro in suburban Denver says there's an absolute "plague" of kids on e-bikes and e-dirtbikes bombing around the streets and neighborhoods at high speeds. 7-14 year old boys equipped with capabilities they're not mature enough to handle safely, drive like banshees through yards and intersections and golf courses etc. I don't see too many of those here in small town TX and when I do they don't seem to be terrorizing anyone. Curious if this is happening where you live or not. Is this a big deal?

@HannahDCox Games you have something on make it more interesting that’s why fantasy sports are so big. It’s also why the sports leagues embrace it, not the players or coaches but the leagues. Makes a trash game interesting because individual players performances matter.

Actually, WoW was the first MMO to have quests as a mainline progression system. The first people we had try the game were EverQuest players. They spent the whole time running around and farming mobs. Because that’s what MMOs were at the time, just that. Quests were a rare side thing. I said “did you try the quests” and they said “what quests?” The goal was to give you a constant 10 things to do, and to never let your quest log run out. That changed everything at the time.

I remember hearing about that one.. lol, which really speaks to how hard it must have been. Rare spawns were just the death knell for EQ. waiting hours for a spawn.. random dude shows up the exact second it spawns (and you happen to be halfway though a zolt)... back to hours of camping
