Passed 64K followers this week, thanks y'all ❤️, here's a brief intro for the new people: - I live in central TX, married 18 years, 4 beautiful kids (3 teen daughters now 😱). Family and faith very important to me. - 42 years old and my career arc went: flight instructor to aviation insurance to serial entrepreneur to business broker to tech CEO trying to disrupt the business brokerage / M&A industry forever. - Hobbies include weightlifting, travel adventures, flying small planes, smoking meats, shooting and hunting, and now dabbling in pickleball and golf. - I try to be a mix of entertaining and educational around the topic of business acquisitions on here and mix in stuff from my various hobbies and areas of passion as well, so I'm not just a business robot. - I'm an optimist and have an abundance mindset and want all of us, including you, you to win and be the best versions of ourselves we can be. I'm cheering for you. - I publicly post personal goals and whether or not I hit them on here, with monthly updates, and hope that becomes a trend for lots of people trying to build their dream lives. - My favorite DM to receive is someone that wants to discuss selling their business.

seen this guy put 315 on the bench time and time again. does one rep where he goes down unevenly, like 2 inches on one side, 3 on the other, then back up, and struggles to do so. he doesn’t look like he lifts. i don’t understand what the point is.

@gregogallagher Tirz hands down more appetite suppression after running both. But Reta still gave better over all results on weight loss and body composition it’s just easier for me to overeat on it and it gives me a major sweet tooth too. Loves me carbs on it.

Some claim Reta suppresses appetite better. Others claim the exact opposite, Tirzep suppresses hunger better. Which is it?

My boy Dusty (Dealonomy's Director of M&A) is absolutely winning at life. Y'all remember him and supported and prayed for him during the July 4th flooding in Kerrville where he put his life on the line to save many people as a volunteer firefighter and swift water rescuer. He just received the Founders Medal of Heroism from the Daughters of the American Revolution and also announced his beautiful wife is pregnant with their 3rd child! Couldn't be more proud of my guy and the quality of professionals we have on our team here.

Well-written and worth the read. "The body's molecular toolkit is underexplored". The patent problem described here means we probably need entirely new regulatory and scientific frameworks to work from to fully realize the massive potential peptides can have on human health and optimization. But in the meantime I'm delighted to see normal people running their own experiments and sharing their results (and getting phenomenal results safely with these molecules.)

At the risk of being accused of all sorts of things Jeff Bezos went from this . . . . . . to this. Anyone explain that?

For Spring Break my two oldest teen girls took a friend and drove 6 hours to work all week at our family garden center biz for my bro @Michaelfiore. Totally their idea. Proud to see them hustling and sweating at the family SMB earning some extra $ in their time off school.

I don't understand what your beef is with it. That kind of discretionary stuff that the current owner is doing that doesn't apply to you as a buyer is precisely what should be adjusted to present the financials in a way that are applicable to you. If they're paying their college age daughter $50K to 'manage their social media' and she's not good at it and they know that, and you know that, and you definitely won't be doing that... that's 50K that needs to be adjusted. So the adjusted EBITDA will actually be more applicable to you than an unadjusted number from their tax return is.

My point is on adjusted EBITDA If the only adjustment is taking out the owners salary then that is EBITDA I can adjust my EBITDA in my business any way I’d like. 1 time expenses, screw up on a job, my truck lease payments, my 2nd office rent, my storage unit rent, another million “owner write offs” But that wouldn’t be an accurate way to reflect my financials would it?

cool yeah SDE and Adjusted EBITDA are how earnings are presented and valuations are done in this world. if you had a broker or seller getting super creative with the adjustments that's on them though. we don't get silly with it and have standard acceptable adjustments banks and buyers can easily verify and accept.

45%. it's run from home with almost no overhead, a small team, and heavy equipment going site to site as has been the case for years, doing a specialized niche. I agree if you want to 10X this thing you'll have to reduce margin a bit and get an office and a yard and some more management personnel. but what it is right now is very real and also proven to be sustainable over years at a time.

@ClintFiore No way a construction company has ~50% ebitda margins. If it does then that’s a huge risk, as margins tend to trend towards the industry average over time.

@ClintFiore Netting almost 50%? Either complete BS or it’s not EBITDA and it’s SDE (still likely greatly exaggerated)

@ClintFiore That’s all built around the relationships from the owner - he can sell it and tomorrow start a competitor with more capital then the guy buying it.
