I don't really understand how it became a convo about him proving his love to anyone. It's about the bigger picture here, stating that what's been written online in the name of his show isn't right, showing support and stading with the rest of the cast and crew.

A statement can't stop racism and online hate nor can it forbid people to fight and to me this should not even be the goal. A statement is a way to validate people who are hurt, making sure this is still a safe place for them, showing support. It's about saying I hear you.
