@KatieM606 It was just a select few running their mouth on FB. But I agree with you, I’ve lived in the mountains of WV for several years before moving to KY and in MC’s case, those kids are at a huge disadvantage. Kudos to those kids and their coaches. The HC is a top notch human being!

@BigBlueTheory I got no idea about any of that. I suspect, given your tone here, they were rude and awful comments and that’s never ok. I’m from MC and it is poor and desolate and can be bleak for young people. A Top 10 finish for kids in a tourney may be all the inspiration they get for awhile

I’m proud of Union County. I’m proud of all the counties. But man I am so proud of Martin County. It vies for poorest county in the state every year with Estill, those kids are stuck with the definition of “limited resources” and still made the Top 10. Way to go, Cardinals❤️

Union County senior Jordyn Raney becomes the KHSAA's first six-time state champion in boys wrestling, beating Moore's Santiago Gonzalez 20-4 in the 150-pound final. Raney previously won titles at 106, 113, 126, 132 and 138 pounds, starting as a seventh-grader.

You know who doesn't complain about having to compete with private schools for KHSAA championships? Union County wrestling. The Braves just come to Lexington every year and kick everybody's asses.

They had made weight 3 days already over a 6 day span (wrestling in Greco part few days earlier and day 1 of freestyle).
